I'll just eat this bird now. We did a hell of a job. Turning 7 draft picks into 8 is great. What makes it amazing is going from 2 picks on the 1st 2 nights to 5. I'm usually for quality over quantity but in this case we got both. The trade from 7 to 12 was awesome.

I find that I usually disagree with Waltercamp on many things...so, I take that with a grain of salt.

I hated it at 1st mainly because we didn't get the other 1st in the package. The best outcome for me though was NOT trading back into the 1st. I think we got great value at the spots we selected our players. Especially Jones at 38 and Davis after trading down with New England. Filled a lot of needs.

This off-season has been awesome. We all knew there were 3 big needs coming into it, OL, DL and secondary.

OL- drafted 1 and signed 1
DL- signed 3, drafted 1, traded for 1
DB- drafted 3

I love how we haven't just gotten one guy for each hole and hoped he fixes it. We've thrown a lot at our areas of need. This, along with the draft-day trades, makes me think Licht has done an amazing job this off-season.

And we threw a RB in there as well. Our 4th area of need.

Without the trade back we don’t have another pick until the fourth (after taking Ronald Jones). Instead we end up with two probable starters in positions of glaring need.

Amazing draft. Great offseason overhaul in general.

Ya the trade down was epic, especially since we lost that 3rd getting JPP.

JPP basically free. Licht has done a phenomenal job this year. Hope it produces W’s for Jameis to eat

Draft fell just shy of epic for me when we missed out on two of the top three talents one pick before. Seeing Nelson go to the Colts at 4 then Fitz to the Fins at 11 was heartbreaking.

But it is the draft and every player is a dice roll. Hard for even me to argue against risking losing Fitz for two more dice rolls in the top 60. Vea is a damn good player and should be a stud since we aren't asking him to come in and save the DL from day one and have plenty of rotation to go around. At least one of the DBs should work out, which will be great. Incredible I missed out on scouting Jones early. That's what happens when you man crush on Guice.

Walterfootball is a joke.. when I hear someone reference them I cant help but roll my eyes and vomit in my mouth a little.

Anyone that knows ANYTHING about football knows that at least so far, this draft for Tampa was nothing short of stellar.

I hope that even if for some reason Koetter gets fired after the season, I hope we get to keep Licht.

Walterfootball says our draft was bad because we took a 2 down DT and passed on James who was perfect for us. They also said Stewart was a massive reach and they are worried about Jones living in Tampa's "party environment".

**** Walterfootball.com!! That place is a joke in terms of analysis and tbh you're far better off asking posters here their opinion on a prospect. The only reason to visit that sight is pure boredom. If I had to say something positive about that site is that during the draft process they aggregate alot of other mock drafts so it's an easy place to see where various media entities are mocking players.

Licht nailed this draft as far as I'm concerned. All 32 NFL teams have their own rankings, so while I may have drafted a different player in certain spots I don't see where any of the picks were reaches or head-scratchers.

My favorite is his Ronald Jones write-up

38. Ronald Jones, RB, USC B+ Grade
We heard the Buccaneers preferred Derrius Guice, but Ronald Jones is definitely a strong option as well. The Buccaneers needed to upgrade their backfield after Doug Martin struggled so much last year. Jones is a dynamic threat who can go the distance whenever he touches the ball, so Jameis Winston will love playing with him. My one concern is how having Jones will work in Tampa's crazy party atmosphere, where many young careers have been derailed.

I get where they're coming from, our last QB was derailed due to late nights partying at that hot new club Tacobella.

I don't blame them. Truth is if you thought Derwin was a stud, and there many who did and they may be proven right, then yeah, we messed up. Time will tell.

I agree on the Fitz sentiment. I think he would have been the call if not for Miami.

The "Tampa Party City" nonsense though, LMAO. Did Walter hate us before Charlie joined them, or not until after?

One thing I love about the selections of Davis and Stewart is that it will force Hargreaves to earn his way. Not only was he going to have to compete for outside with Smith, and now Davis, but now he has to compete with MJ just to play Nickel.
