Yup. It's on!

There may be differences of opinion as to how great Dungy was, but I don't think there is an argument to be made that he deserves this.

His case isn't black and white, but I think he'll get a green light some day.

About time. Coach Dungy was an incredible coach for the Buccaneers. A calm steady influence who made players want to run through walls for him. When I met him in 1999 I was impressed with how nice a person he was as well.

Glazers going to put someone in every year now? Just a pony show to get more fans in attendance.

Long over due.

Look at what this franchise was BEFORE Dungy...and look at what they became AFTER him.

A good man in the community and for the franchise.

He's EARNED this.

You're OBVIOUSLY too young to remember how bad...truly AWFUL, this franchise was before the Glazers, Wyche, Dungy, Kiffin, et. al. came aboard.

IF ESPN did their annual ranking of professional sport franchises (U.S.) back then? The Buccaneers would've finished DEAD LAST. It wouldn't have been close, either.

Dungy (the HC is the executive), along with others, brought class, professionalism and respectability to a franchise that had ZERO.

He deserves this. And if you people don't realize that fact, then shame on you.

100% correct. The Bucs were the worst franchise in the Big Four. I'm trying to think who might have been close back then...Depending on when we're talking about, the Dallas Mavericks, maybe? What Dungy did would be the equivalent of instead of going 0-16, Hue Jackson takes the Browns to the playoffs last year and then three more times in the next four season, including an AFCCG. ETC. Only he does it with, say, Brandon Weeden, who's still hanging around after being a first rounder from a previous regime (Actually, a pretty good comp for Dilfer.)

Dungy is a legend.

I'm kinda "meh" about putting Gruden and Dungy in the ring....but, whatevs..

What I passionately disagree with is both of them going in before Barber...

That's some BS..

Dungy absolutely.

Gruden? You win a ring, you make the ring. Mazel tov.

But yeah...Barber should have been a priority.

Gruden had to go in, and the timing was right with him about to return to the sidelines.

You know who I'd love to see in: Hardy Nickerson.

He didn't have the longest tenure, but he was a hell of a player when he was in Tampa; more importantly, his impact off the field was as great as it was on it. He brought a whole new mindset and fire to the team and the defense.

Yes, he turned around the laughing stock. We get it. Teams take turns being the laughingstock and eventually get out of it and it rotates around. Every coach that does it isn't automatically some legend. Other teams have higher standards, but I guess that's what happens when your franchise is so young.

Bucs were 18-30 the three seasons prior to Dungy. Three season before DK the bucs were 12-36, so I guess if we go to the playoffs that makes DK the bucs GOAT right with an even bigger turn around right?

Sam Wyche was steadily turning this team around. He did the real dirty work in the beginning. Dungy took the baton and ran the rest, with Gruden being the final sprinter. It's a process to go from very bad to good, everyone goes through it, but only Buc fans treat it like a miracle.

I think it is equal parts the turnaround of the franchise and the man Dungy is. Switch the coaches around (Grudent does the turnaround and Dungy wins the SB) and I think Gruden would not be in becuase he isn't known for being the quality of person Dungy is.

Meh, Tony seems like a good guy, but I think he is also probably one of the most overrated coaches in history. The guy had a dominant defense, but he also had one of the most talented defensive rosters in history he could never get the offense past the putrid stage, and according to the players, he never cared how the offense played. Once he moved on to a less talented defensive roster, he could never build a great defense again, and he had Peyton in his prime and could only win once, and that was against Lovie and Rex freaking Grossman.

But taht is kind of my point. He's such a good person, his coaching ability (or lack there of if you were to argue that) is almost secondary.

Not saying that whoever decides to put people in the Bucs ROH and the people who decide to put people in the HOF use the same mind set, but Terrell freakin Owens is a first ballot HOFer and he is not in because he's a turd of a human.

I think it goes the opposite way as well. There are guys in the HOF that should be in the HO very good, but they really nice guys who sent the media Christmas cards....so let's put them in.

Good point. I wonder what standard they use for the ROH and how it differs from say the HOF or whatever. Maybe the character is a huge part. Community? I'd love to read the official criteria.

1 - Who will the fans pack the stadium to see inducted?

2 - Does one of the people on the list have something of importance coming up soon? (ie - HOF induction)

3 - Do we have a game against a team that has a connection to that person in any way?

If character mattered in the slightest, Sapp wouldn't be in.

I'm wondering if this is going to become an annual event? If so, how long before it's no longer significant in the eyes of fans (if it isn't already insignificant)?
