Yup. Glad I got to watch him play. Type of player all the future greats will be measured against.

I think they knew it was coming. There were reports that they were going to try and sign Solder

A little surprising. He was talking all offseason about recruiting QBs to come play in Cleveland. Sucks for the guy he never really experienced any team success at all.

Didn't know that..saw an alert that someone was talking to Solder, didn't read it...(have to do some actual work at some point.. especially with March Madness starting full swing tomorrow)...

Before getting injured for the first time ever in his career this past season (year 11) Joe Thomas has played every snap at LT since he was drafted back in '07 (for reference that is when the Bucs drafted Gaines Adams and Gruden was still the damn Head Coach).

Made the pro bowl every year his first 10 seasons, including as a rookie.
7x FIRST TEAM ALL-PRO (That is amazing imo)

Tough to do it better than Joe Thomas did.

Salute....

Perhaps the greatest player in NFL history to never play in a playoff game.

Yeah, I don't normally root for other teams and players but Joe Thomas is a guy I really wanted to see get some postseason success in Cleveland. That city has endured the worst, and Joe Thomas was in the trenches for all of it. Reminds me of Paul Gruber in Tampa, except Gruber managed to stick it out for some playoff wins.

What's the record for a player in the HoF with fewest number of career wins?

Better question for a coach.

W-L record is more of a coach thing.

Oh sure, I didn't mean it as a reflection on the player at all. I was just wondering if he might be, out of interest.

Joe Thomas: 48
Lee Roy Selmon: 44

ETA: Not sure what the record is, but there's a comparison for you

He could have been a Buc, but I still feel really great about that win against the Browns on December 24th, 2006 that gave them the 3rd pick and us the 4th. That was a great friggin' win. I think about that epic win whenever the, "You play to win the game!" crowd starts in. We beat the **** out of the Browns in that completely meaningless game, and drank from the spoils of Gaines Adams.

We should have had AP, Willis, or Revis in that draft, but we were drafting for "need" and we "needed a DE" to replace Rice so...

Yup, no guarantee we would've drafted Thomas at 3. We're still the Bucs!! :D

Hell, the Raiders passed on Megatron and Joe Thomas for Jamarcus Russell. So in that respect we didn't so bad w/ Gaines Adams. Atleast we traded him for 2nd rounder before he died.

Yeah, tanking for draft picks is still the stupid position fans have. Like "hey coach and GM, please fall on your sword and lose your job for the sake of the franchise. Players you too. Thanks!"
