Not opposed to taking those 2 picks in exchange for #7

Edit: No. IDK how the points break out for that. Just saying.

They'll need to get much higher than 7 for a QB. Probably 2 or 3.

Wouldn't be made until we're on the clock anyway, so it wouldn't be a gamble. But yes, they may have to aim higher if they have a big gap somewhere in their top 4 QB evaluations.

What a dream come true that’d be if Chubb and Nelson were gone.

Lol. Exactly, it's not like it happens today.

If they are eyeing a QB they could very well try to trade up with no success during the entire process. If eventually it lands to us at #7 and the QB they want is sitting there, that's when you pull the tirgger. Like the Chiefs did with Mahomes last year. It's not like the traded for the #10 pick a week before draft day hoping for the best.

This is a very QB heavy draft, which could play in our favor and leave us with one of the top 3-4 studs to pick. But in the unfortunate event that it doesn't, it will mean there is someones honeypot QB there at #7. And if it's the Bills, wooo hoo. It only takes one team to be in love with that one player.

3/4 non QB studs
4/5 QB studs
We pick #7. Yeah, I like how this looks.

And they now have the fire power to get there. We are NOT getting those firsts for #7, so everyone get that out of your heads now.

But the Bills moving up ahead of us to take a QB is good news.

They don't have to.

The Browns are not taking 2 QBs in the top 5.
The Giants are iffy on a QB in the 1st. But lets assume they do.
The Colts would shock the league if they went QB. Not likley.
Denver is in the market for a QB and are the favorites to take Cousins. Lets say they don't and draft one here.
Jets are in the market and pushing for Cousins. Let's say they don't get him either.

Ultimate worst case scenario, 4 of the top 5 QBs are gone by 7. Leaving Barkley, Chubb, or Nelson the only non-QBs off the board.

You're about to draft Minkah or Nelson and Buffalo calls because they want Mason Rudolph. You don't pick up the phone?

Edit: switch and with or

And all of this means nothing if the Browns, Colts, Giants, Broncos and Jets even trade out of their spots with teams who want QBs. That's absolutely a gamble. If they want to ensure themselves of getting a QB they will need to get into the top 3. And Mason Rudolph is not that guy.

We have 1 opening on the starting unit at OG/C depending on what we do with Marpet- unless the plan is to cut Sweezy. We also have great depth as we saw towards the end of last year when essentially out 2nd unit outplayed our first. You only dress 7/8 guys on Sundays. I just don't see it. Add 1 stud, either through FA or the draft, and move on to other needs.

Keep in mind that both Sweezy and Marpet play right guard. I'm not saying neither could switch, but it would be a new position for either and a gamble.

I also really like Jensen. His is a bigger Joe Hawley. Him, Nelson, and Marpet in the middle would be ferocious.

Let's just admit that we have no clue how to use Marpet. We took a college LT, moved him to RG. When that didn't work we moved him to C and now we're supposedly looking at a FA C and could possibly move him to LG. 4 different positions in 4 years.

Pretty much this. The dude looked good at right guard- stop trying to be clever and just put him back and leave him there.

It didn’t work? He had a great season at Guard.

I’d be fine if we found a C in free agency or draft and moved him back to guard though. And then draft Nelson.
