I’m glad we stayed away from Norwell with the price tag he got. He’s a good player but waaay too much money to be paying a guard.

I mean if you're willing to draft a guard 7th overall because he could be an all-pro, I don't see why you don't sign a 26 year old current all-pro to that kind of cash...

I do. The 7th overall pick is a lot cheaper, younger, and has more upside.

Because the guy at 7 overall won’t be paid 13 million dollars when we just signed a few big extensions and have a potential QB extension on the horizon. Besides, we paid big bucks for an All Pro young guard a few years ago and that didn’t work so well either. If we’re going to pay for a top dollar FA it has to be a pass rusher and there’s nobody worth the money out there.

Also more downside... as well the cheaper/younger thing works for every position....

So because Carl Nicks got MRSA many years ago... you will never go after all-pro guards again. Gotcha.

No, it just shows you that it’s not a slam dunk to get what you’re paying for. We don’t need a guard that badly. We have bigger needs and a shrinking cap number with all the players we are extending.

Wait, a rookie seen as a once in a generation player at his position has more downside than a 4 year vet??

Vikings offered Cousins 3 year $84M. Will have the first visit with him.

That's ironic coming from the guy who refers to draft prospects as "studs" and "elite"...

Tells me 1 thing.

1 - Barber is an exclusive rights free agent and cannot negociate or sign with another team so we signed him to the same deal all exclusive rights FAs get.

Thanks. Didn't realize he was an ERFA. Makes way more sense now, but it still tells me they don't think he's their long-term answer. It just says, we don't have to make that decision this year. Whew!

Maybe. But as you stated they are willing to give him a shot at it and I also think we will draft a RB.

Now being reported that Cousins will likely sign there. Fully guaranteed contract

This is great news for the Bucs draft. Cousins stays away from a team in the top 6.

Keenum is bandaid on a short term deal in Denver means they could go QB also.

Bills will likely try to continue moving up the board with the draft capital they have to get inside the top 5 for a QB (hopefully trade w/ the Colts at 3).

Bucs need 4 QBs to go top 6. That would ensure one of Chubb, Nelson, Barkley falls to 7.

I can see it happening...

I think Chubb falling is alot more likely today than it was when the season ended.

This. Unless buffalo wants to risk losing on their guy the colts make a ton of sense to trade back.

Could go down
1) Cle-Darnold
2) NYG-Rosen
3) Buf (Indy) Allen
4) Cle-Barkley
5) Denver-Mayfield
6) NYJ (hopefully not Chubb)

Chubb - Nelson - Barkley are my preference in that order (Nelson and Barkley are basically a coin flip though for me). But I'd be over the flipping moon for any of them at 7.
