Some Numbers -

Mike Evans is currently:

122 catches from becoming our all time leader, passing James Wilder
440 yards from becoming our all-time leading receiver, overtaking Kevin House and Mark Carrier
3 receiving touchdowns from becoming our all time leading receiving scorer, replacing Jimmie Giles
27 touchdowns away from becoming our all time TD leader, overtaking Mark Alstatt

It's possible he hits those receiving benchmarks (besides catches) by Columbus Day, becoming our most prolific receiver in all categories in 2019. The TD mark would probably be met in 2020 or 2021.

I consider this a testament to how good he's been for us and how much our franchise has sucked balls on offense for 42 years.

Glad to see a deal get done before a franchise tag comes into play.

This is good news. Now that we've got Evans handled the front office can focus on other things.

Very happy to have Mike Evans be our premier WR. One of the best in the league! And he plays for us! He’s gonna be one of the all time great Buccaneers!

I read that this year his salary will be 9.3% of the cap.

It was from a post on Reddit, but with 18 million in 2018, that sounds about right.

Under the contract, negotiated by agent Deryk Gilmore, Evans receives $55 million in injury guarantees (the previous high was $48.7 million by Johnson); Evans has $38.3 million fully guaranteed over the next two years alone.
Over the first three years of the deal -- always a key metric in this league -- Evans will average a massive $18 million per season. The deal includes rolling guarantees early in the contract and a $1.5 million bonus in the final year of the deal that will essentially force the Bucs to make a decision on his future prior to the 2023 season.
Evans earns $18 million in salary and bonus in 2018, and then would have a cash flow of $20 million in 2019, $18.72 million in 2020, $12.25 million in 2021, $14 million in 2022 and $14,5 million in 2023. His cap numbers are manageable through most of the contract (the bulk of his guaranteed money would be paid out before Winston would be on a second contract), and the cap numbers in the final three years of the deal work in the favor of both Evans and the team.

I love the lower #'s in the latter part of this deal. That means he won't become a cap casualty like so many players do that reach the last couple of years on their 2nd contracts. As long as he's still producing, he'll be considered a bargain in 2021 and beyond.

Or he'll want a raise and an extension. It's too far off right now but if Evans is still around and producing, which is likely, I'd bet he isn't playing under the same contract for those 2 seasons

Maybe he gets out of the last one, but definitely not year four. Most likely the contract is renegotiated during year five, not before.

Mike Evans signed a 5 year, $82.5 million extension with the Buccaneers on March 12, 2018. Evans received $55 million in guarantees, $38.258 million of which is guaranteed at signing. Evans guarantee consists of a $10 million 2018 roster bonus, a $8.258 million 2018 salary, and $20 million 2019 salary. If Evans is on the roster on the 5th day of the 2019 league year, $11.75 million of his 2020 salary will vest from injury to fully guaranteed. The balance becomes fully guaranteed on the 5th day of the 2020 league year. If Evans is on the roster on the 5th day of the 2023 league year he will receive a $1.5 million roster bonus.
