As it stands now, our #1 corner is a nickelback, our #2 corner is a guy we tried to use at safety when he came into the league, our #3 corner is a special teamer, and our #4 corner is a JAG with a detonated knee who might actually be our best corner.

So...yeah...Add Aaron Colvin. Add ANYONE who can play the position.

I wonder how good this CB draft class is? It would be sweet to hit it big with 2 or 3 of them, but then you just know the coaches would be to worried about their lack of experience and they would hang on the not ready yet button. I like Danny Johnson!

MJW, does anyone know if David Rivers or Reese Fleming can bring anything. Some teams can slam them on the field and just say go make plays. We always seem to have to wait until they are ready. I think the "whatever you do dont let them hurt us quick approach" can make players lethargic wimps. Afraid of making mistakes that let teams have 10 play 8 minute drives on us.

I’d feel good if our FA agent class was only Johnson, Colvin, and Norwell.

I don't know Fleming. Rivers was an interesting UFA because he's a solid 6'1 190 with 4.45-4.50 speed. I love those small school guys because you just never know if they're diamonds in the rough.

One of the nice things about having basically 1 certain job taken at cornerback (VHIII) means we'll have some flexibility to give some of these pups a long look in camp.

Johnson is a FA. Rap Sheet reports that it's just draft picks. The Chiefs initially wanted Robert Quinn to be included but that was a no go.

True, but technically he's not a FA until the start of the new league year right?...

So he could "still" be traded...just like we just"cut" Folk...

Or am I all bass-ackwards...

Maybe a sign-and-trade scenario for Johnson, but he's about hit the open market so I don't know why his agent would even entertain that at this point.

Can't trade a FA to be at this point.

Think of it this way. No trades prior to the beginning of the league year (that's why the Peters deal can't be completed officially until then).

Johnson becomes a FA on day one of the new league year. So at that point he's the property of no team.

You know what team makes a world of sense to me? The Eagles. Jeffery is going to be easing his way back from major surgery. They can cut Torrey Smith and save $5 mil under the cap, and look to Mack Hollins in that role. They haven't made the call on Nelson Agholor's 5th year option yet, and Jarvis Landry is a far superior version of the same player. Plus he could do some Trey Burton things, too.

If they traded #32 for Landry, they'd be trotting out an offense that looks like:

QB Carson Wentz (Team Control through 2020)
RB Jay Ajayi
WR Alshon Jeffery (Team Control through 2021)
WR Mack Hollins (Team Control through 2020)
WR Jarvis Landry (I'd assume extended through at least 2021)
TE Zach Ertz (Team Control through 2021)

Obviously they'd have to figure out their long-term plan at running back, and I'm projecting a bit with Hollins. But that's the makings of something special there.

Eagles don't have the cap space. Currently $6mil over the cap. Nor do they have the draft capital to execute a deal. They have their 1st but no 2nd or 3rd round picks this year. The Eagles do make sense on paper, I agree with your points. but realistically not a chance.

That's reasonable. I'm not even saying I would do that if I'm Doug Pederson. Just that it would be one angle towards making the most of their window.

If not the Eagles...Let me think...

The Browns would make sense, though they'd have to make sure he'd be willing to sign an extension with them. Whoever their QB is going to end up being, he'd benefit greatly from Landry. Cap space and compensation wouldn't be an issue for them.

The Ravens make sense on paper, but they're up against the cap.

The Colts make sense on the level that he'd be a great compliment to TY Hilton. I don't know if I'd spend the draft capital with so many needs along the lines though.

If the Broncos are serious about moving on from Thomas and Sanders, they'd make sense. Although honestly, I think they're closer to a rebuild than another Superbowl.

The Raiders don't have a world of cap space right now, but releasing some dead weight and extending Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper would put them in a good shape. I think Landry would thrive playing for Gruden, and Gruden would probably love not having to use a draft pick on a filthy rookie.

Whether it would make sense or not, it'd be a very Redskins thing for them to do.

Whether it would make sense or not, it'd be a very Cowboys thing for them to do (though I don't think they could work it into their cap.)

The Bears make sense for ANY receiver who can play, because they don't have any.

The Panthers make sense for the same reason, but I don't see it. They drafted McCaffrey and Samuel to do creative underneath stuff. I think they'd rather compliment Funchess with a burner.

If the 49ers could land him for less than their 1st, that would be another huge win for John Lynch. Landry and Jimmy G would make sweet music together.

And the Cardinals shouldn't be counted out, simply because they don't have much behind 34 year old Fitzgerald.

I think Washington would make a lot of sense. Jay Gruden runs that same WC system and with Alex Smith under center now a lot more accurate throws will come his way.

The only thing there is, they already have a pretty good slot option in Jamison Crowder.
