Absolutley.

Sign him, draft Nelson if he's there and you have a very stout middle of the line for quite some time. OR you can use #7 on a different position and grab any number of capable interior linemen on day 2. There's no scenario what grabbing a top notch LG in their prime is a bad idea.

Yup. Sign Norwell and the biggest weakness on our oline becomes our biggest strength. He's also only 26. We'd also be making the Panthers weaker....

Do it Dom!

Norwell
Chubb R1
Hernandez R2

Hell to the yes...

Edit: ALTHOUGH, I'm feeling bit superstitious about this...last time a division rival let an all-pro guard sign with us in FA it turned out to be, imo, the biggest FA whiff in our history...(I don't wanna hear **** about injuries, you don't think the Saints knew that when they let him walk)...

And I'm superstitious as **** when it comes to sports...

It's not crazy if it works or plays out...just sayin

I wrote off OJ Howard as "not going to be there" last year. Not making that mistake again.

Same here. But the premier DE of the draft is different than the best TE in the draft.

I think it's not impossible. A disappointing combine would be the first step... then you need the Colts to pass on him, and a major QB run. Don't think the Browns take him at 4.

But still, not close to likely enough to be able to pencil it in.

"Highly unlikely" is still a fair assessment.

So there is rumor gaining steam that the Chiefs are offering up CB Marcus Peters.

For those unfamiliar, Peters has been in the NFL 3 seasons and quickly ascended as one of, if not the premier cover corner in the NFL. As a former 1st round pick Peters could have 2 more seasons (assuming his 5th year option is picked up) of team control before he could test FA following the 2019 season.

He does come with some baggage though. He slid in the draft due to his volatility and has that behavior has surfaced at times. It hasn't been too bad and considering he's been on his rookie contract it been excused (not too dissimilar than our own Mike Evans), but I'd have some concern about locking up a guy like Peters to a lucrative deal when standards for behavior increase with that kind of money.

#22 just became available for the Bucs and Peters wears that # also.

Not sure what the compensation the Chiefs are looking for would be.

It'll take a fortune to get Peters from the Chiefs. More than what we gave up for Revis. Not going to happen.

The Charlotte Observer's Joe Person doesn't expect the Panthers to use the franchise tag on free agent LG Andrew Norwell.
Carolina has a ton of money tied up in its offensive line with LT Matt Kalil, C Ryan Kalil, and RG Trai Turner. Tagging Norwell would leave the Panthers on the hook for a guaranteed $14.3 million-ish, money they'd likely prefer to use elsewhere. Norwell, 26, is one of the top overall free agents available.

That can't be true. Bootz assured us they wouldn't let him walk.

Bring him and Michael Clayton back and let them battle it out for the role.

Draft Shaquem Griffin as a WR and see which of the 3 has the best hands.

Jaguars unlikely to re-sign Aaron Colvin. He’s kinda forgotten about in that secondary but he has been decent.

It’s like Alex Smith the TE, just lingered as depth for several years after fading out here, good for them.

Would you trade a 3rd rounder for Earl Thomas or Richard Sherman?

Another possibility would be Tyrann Mathieu, who looks like will be cut from the Cards, I think Licht coming from AZ would bring him here, what do you think?

Any of Thomas or Mathieu I think would be a perfect pair with Justin Evans here, a chance to learn from the best.

Trying to think...wasn't he a 1st rounder coming out of OU but he entered the draft with a torn ACL? Or am I thinking of someone else?

Went back to see what was said about him in that draft...

Draft Analysis:
"This is as good of a value pick as there will be coming out of this draft. Before Senior Bowl (where he suffered a knee injury), I thought he might have been a Day 2 pick." -- Mike Mayock

With our cornerback position as it is now, I would not be averse to adding nearly any NFL caliber corner to the mix.

As it stands now, our #1 corner is a nickelback, our #2 corner is a guy we tried to use at safety when he came into the league, our #3 corner is a special teamer, and our #4 corner is a JAG with a detonated knee who might actually be our best corner.

So...yeah...Add Aaron Colvin. Add ANYONE who can play the position.
