Cheb wrote:The full quote is:

"I think we have depth on the offensive line, we have versatility on the offensive line," Koetter said. "I know our O-line is heavily criticized. I think our O-line is in the upper half of the league. … When I’m looking at tapes of other teams, I see some bad offensive line play. I think our O-line hung in there pretty good."

He's not totally wrong.

We have depth; we just proved that by being forced to start a bunch of JAGs and being able to not grind to a screeching halt. We have versatility, because those JAGs can often play more than one position.

What he didn't say is that we have talent. He thinks that our offensive line is good by comparison. Being good and good by comparison are very different things. A person bench pressing 150lbs as their max could be the strongest guy in the weight room at a given moment, but that doesn't mean that they are objectively strong, only strong when compared to their immediate peers.

Is our offensive line better than the Seahawks, Colts, and Giants units? Yes. Does that mean that they are good? No.

Pretty much what I said earlier.

Well, he didn't say we had good depth or versatility so you can argue that he's right. Average or bad depth and versatility is still depth and versatility. :D

Did people miss the last part of the season where we played five teams while starting our B Squad OL? Not only did we keep up and go toe to toe with them, four were teams with winning records, three are in the playoffs, and we actually beat one of the best teams in the conference. WITH OUR BACK UPS. Of that OL, only one guy (D. Smith) is likely in the starting line up week 1 next year.

There are starting OLs worse than what we fielded the last month. And yes, they left a lot to be desired, but you are blatantly hating if you don't think we have depth and versatility on OL. Do you remember what happen last year when we lost just ONE guy on the OL (Dotson) and had Cherilus come in as the back up? Murder she wrote.

Yeah, it wasn't pretty. Still take him next to two other back ups over Cherilus next to Marpet anyday.

I don't disagree about Cherilus. But, to be fair, that game against the Cowboys, he was apparently injured and was playing out of necessity. That's why he was extra bad. Lol
