2017-18 NFL Wild Card Rounds

Postby sanka » Sun Dec 31, 2017 9:33 pm

Saturday games
Titans @ Chiefs
Falcons @ Rams

Sunday games
Bills @ Jags
Panthers @ Saints

Most of these games will be a snoozefest ...

I really hope Sean McDermott apologized to T-smith for getting the Bills to their first playsoffs since 1999....If it's not broke don't try to fix it.

I'm done with the NFL for this season, but I'll hope for the Rams to win big. I guess I'll root for the Panthers to win then to lose.

Baltimore losing made the AFC playoffs a lot less interesting.

They would of been a real threat to New England and Pittsburgh. Buffalo, not so much.

I'm sure Mariota played no part in any of their victories. Just because he was one of the two guys who we could have taken as our franchise QB doesn't mean we can't give him some credit for helping his team get to the playoffs.

There isn't one great team in the NFL this year. It's going to be one of those weird deals where a 5 or 6 seed makes the Superbowl. Most likely from the NFC.

How far would the 9ers go if they were in it?

It's obvious that it's the saints turn to represent the NFC south and lose a Super bowl.

Congrats to the Bills for ending the NFL's longest playoff drought and finally getting back to the dance. Unfortunately, that only means one thing: the Browns and the Bucs have been out of the playoffs longer than any other team in the league now.

Anybody else going to be rooting on the Jags this year?

Really tough call ... I was going to route for Jax but with Buffalo backing into the playoffs it's a sweet story.

But I will hope for Jax to take at least this game

Yep. Ever since the Texans were decimated by injuries, you just knew it was going to be NE/Pitt again.

Jags and Chiefs will win in the AFC.
In the NFC, I think the Panthers beat the Saints. But I have no clue about the Rams/Falcons.

I'm kinda hoping Minnesota wins the NFC. I know they're old NFC Central rivals, but I'd rather them win it than the Saints, Falcons, Panthers, Eagles or Rams. Out of all the NFC playoff teams, I think we have less of a history/rivalry with the Vikings than we do the other five NFC teams.

And in the AFC, it's more about just being tired of the same ole, same ole with the Steelers and Patriots.

I'd love something random like a Minnesota-Tennessee Super Bowl.

Chiefs over Titans - Easy here, Titans have no business on this playoffs, they will be blown out. 28-13

Jaguars over Bills - I see a close game here, Jags D too much for this injured plagued Bills offense. 17-10

Falcons over Rams - I see also a close game here for 3 quarters, but Atlanta's experience is something they have as an advantage against these young Rams, Goff will struggle by the end of this game. 34-20

Panthers over Saints - Classic NFC South matchup, it will be very close, but I see the Panthers pulling this game out, they won't lose 3 times against these Saints, Brees is not the same he used to, Panthers defense will be prepared this upcoming game. 24-20

Titans 24 Chiefs 23
An upset special. The Chiefs haven't looked like a great team since October. Behind an opportunistic defense and a strong running game, the Titans win a thriller.

Falcons 31 Rams 38
This is a tough game to call, but the Rams have a lot of ways to beat a team. Todd Gurley will have a big game and Jared Goff will do just enough.

Bills 10 Jags 31
The weekend's only lopsided game. The Bills do not match up well with the Jaguars, who can control the game on the ground and smother the Bills conservative attack with their front seven.

Panthers 30 Saints 31
This should be a great game. In the dome, with the superior team, I expect Drew Brees to make one more play than Cam Newton down the stretch.

The only upset special I see here is the Bills over the Jags...Titans really feel like a team that doesn't want to be there.

I don't know why the media makes a big fuss over beating a team three times in a season is so hard. It's actually not. IIRC, teams that are 2-0 vs another tend to win 70% of the time when meeting again in the playoffs. Saints should win this matchup.

I think the Chiefs, Rams, and Jags would all make for great stories this year. Kind of like the Cardinals when they lost to the Steelers. I like having an underdog or new face in my Superbowl match up. Andy Reid and Alex Smith finally getting some hardware would be nice to see and a good testament to having patience.

I agree with you to an extent. BUT, generally speaking, division foes are much tougher to beat due to their familiarity with each other. Case in point. Bucs 31, Saints 24.
