Wait ... It wouldn't be a surprise if Jacksonville beats Pittsburgh and New England (likely) in back-to-back weeks on the road?

Have you seen Bortles play ? They are going to get destroyed this week unfortunately.

Looking at the actual teams and not just the names, no it wouldn't be a surprise. They run the ball better than every team in the league. They play defense better than every team in the league except Minnesota. It would be new but not a surprise.

Surprise — an unexpected or astonishing event, fact, or thing.

A team like Jacksonville going on the road and beating Pittsburgh then New England (again, likely) would, in fact, be a surprise. Lol.

I get what you're saying...yes, they have an elite defense & a strong run game. But if the freaking Jaguars are in the Super Bowl (& beat Big Ben & Brady on the road to get there), IT WOULD BE A SURPRISE...a SHOCK....unexpected...unforeseen...unimaginable.

And I haven't even mentioned the name "Bortles" once.

Think you quoted the wrong person here....I'm not the one saying if the Jaguars are in the Super Bowl that it wouldn't be surprising.

Hypothetically ... what would happen around here & to most Bucs fans in general if the Titans & Mariota made it to the Super Bowl?

This place would blow up & cease to exist, right?

I would be exceptionally surprising to see JAX in the Superbowl. If you are going to win with defense, you still have to have someone competent at QB, who can keep mistakes to a minimum and also take some advantage of what his own defense accomplishes.

It would be surprising to see Jax in the SB. But I think they have a waayyyyy better chance this weekend. I don't think NE-TEN will be close. I think at minimum, NE wins by 2 TDs.

I can see Jax winning but that will involve a few things: if Fournette can get going, how well they contain Bell, and the turnover margin (Ben vs. Bortles).

Hypothetically ... How many times a day do you fantasize about Mariota??

Less than 5 times, right?

Exactly what I said! Looking at the actual teams and not the names. Casual fans can't get past big names. You see Jacksonville Jaguars & their history, 2 teams with long championship history and big name QBs. I see a team with the best rushing attack and an elite defense. It's not a surprise to me to see a team with an elite defense in the Superbowl. Might be to you but not to me.

I don't know anyone who has disparaged Bortles as often and for as long as I have, but, gun to my head, I'd take him over Dilfer.

Bortles is either quite good or completely terrible. Which one shows up this weekend?

I don't know if he's ever good, but he can be servicible. I know people think he's good when he gets 3 tds, 0 ints, but if you watch those games he's still lost, missing receivers, and frustrating to watch. They've watered down the offense as much as possible to help him and he often still shits the bed.

Hell no! I freakin hate the Steelers...still debating if I will openly root against them or not..being a playoff game, I don't think I'll make it out alive if I do, unlike when I've gone to games and rooted against them before (ie our win there in 2014)...

Bro-in-law has to take me out of necessity, he doesn't have very many friends...it was either me or his wife/my sister-in-law, and she said GFY as it's only gonna be a high of 18 degrees tomorrow...

Growing up in Cleveland in the 70s and 80s...my dad had season tickets to the Browns. When I would go to the Steelers game any car with a PA license plate had them ripped off, bent in half and shoved under the windshield wiper

That being said, I was supposed to hate the Steelers but I actually liked them .. who couldn’t like Bradshaw, Swann, Stallworth, Ham, Blier, Lambert (who my dad went to school with and I got to meet about a dozen times)

Not counting Foles out yet. I think the Eagles will stomp them.

But I'll only be able to watch about an hour of the game. Will have to record the rest.

1st play Foles throws a floater that was way short but Falcons commit PI.

2nd play, fumble and Falcons recover. Going to be an ugly game.

I make picks based on who I think will win. Not who I want to win. I think Atlanta is the better team and they have experience in the postseason. Not to mention Nick Foles is starting for the Eagles.
