Yeah, those rings Billy won as a Coordinator meant nothing.

Clearly you are related to DK. The guy is a joke but the Yucks are stuck with him. Especially with so many openings this post season.

We'll agree to disagree I guess, so we'll see in a year.

FYI: Rumor says Darcie nixed the Gruden re-hire, causing the plans to crash and burn last week. Just a rumor.

Also, Coach Gruden has informed ESPN that it is likely he will take the Raiders job.

I wonder if Del Rio would be interested in some sort of FO role. Just cut him a check and let him have his say.

Glazer sister. She runs a lot of the philanthropic efforts of the organization. She was also the one who was reportedly most hesitant at drafting Jameis Winston.

My guess is the sons, star struck by Gruden, was ready to match the Raiders offer and offer Gruden ownership here and she said "yeah, that's not happening".

I mean by all indications, Gruden was coming here before Oakland swooped in, so I doubt she was against the idea of Gruden being here in general, just not for what we were going to offer in a counter offer.

Nano, I can't say for sure. According to the rumor, and again I stress this is a rumor I got on a phone call a little while ago, was that Coach Gruden floated the possibility of receiving a small stake in the club as part of his compensation and Darcie's response was "HE'S NOT FAMILY!". The boys went back to Coach Gruden's rep and said that's a non-starter, and the response to the Glazer boys was, basically, "either you want him or you don't -- he has lots of other options".

AGAIN, allow me to stress that NONE of that comes firsthand of course. Strictly rumor, though from a generally reliable source of inside info.

As much as I wanted Gruden I can't blame the Glazers for not giving up ownership stakes.

Neither are the Raiders so as usual the Yucks lose again and fans are stuck with Dad Pants as the inept HC.

Go Bucs!

Again there's no way 26 owners will sign off on giving a head coach an ownership stake.

Yesterday morning on ESPN radio, Gruden called the rumor of Raiders ownership stake. "“There’s no truth to that at all,” he said. “I heard [ESPN’s] Stephen [A.] Smith screaming at me on TV yesterday on one of his shows. There’s no validity to that at all. Zero. That’s a nice segment that I saw, but no ownership, that’s for sure.”"

Thanks man..

Just wanna throw this out there..before we do the whole fire everyone stuff AGAIN and go looking for another coach and GM AGAIN, can we FIRST go out and hire someone who knows/understands football to run the operations and make those decisions?

Because the Glazer boys/gal...they ain't it...

Can they run a business and make money? Sure they can..

I'm talking making sound football decisions..

Just my 2cents..

My guess is that the Bucs wanted Gruden and pursued him and the Raiders simply won a bidding war. I have no doubt they would have hired him if they could reach an agreement and would still hire him if things fell apart with the Raiders. I don't care about his compensation since I'm not paying him but giving him control over the roster would be a disaster, in my opinion.

Reggie McKenzie has done a great job there. I would be shocked if they're going to fire him for Gruden to take the job, nor do I think he'd stick around if they tried to neuter him.

This is what you get when you have trust fund babies running the team. Malcolm was our owner. Then he passed away and we haven't had anybody legit running our team ever since.

That's an insane contract to give any coach, especially one that hasn't coached in 9 years. Raiders better seriously hope this works out, cause this could become a dumpster fire of epic proportions if it doesn't.

Gruden is essentially a marketing tool for the Raiders.

That is a lot to pay for Gruden, especially considering he was a sub .500 coach following the Super Bowl win.

Well it was going to take an offer he couldn't refuse to get him to leave the booth and the Raiders gave him just that.

I'm glad we didn't give up all that money. This could easily blow up in their face, and going to Vegas that stadium is going to half filled with away teams fans goin to party for the weekend and watch the game on Sunday.

I was just in Vegas in October. Talking to 1 of my Lyft drivers he said the entire area is excited about the Raiders coming to Vegas but maybe not for the reason you think. Like my driver, Many residents of Vegas and nearby Henderson, Nevada are transplants from Los Angeles, where the Raiders are still the most popular NFL team. And seeing as it's a shorter drive from L.A. to Vegas than it is L.A. to Oakland a lot of LA fans will have no issues making the 4 hour drive to see the Raiders play.
