Rapid Reactions: Week 8 17-3 L vs Carolina

Postby Nano » Sun Oct 29, 2017 3:01 pm

We're 2-5, playoffs are pretty much out of reach.

We're a bad football team...plain and simple. We have no stars. One of the worst collections of talent in the league. A HC that probably knows that he's going to be replaced after the season. Time for the next long rebuild

Jameis needs to go on IR, this season is a wash. Trade Grimes cut Ward and let the young kids develop in the secondary

The worst part about this team is the hype all offseason and the severe regression. We have too much talent (on paper) to be playing this bad. Comes down to coaching.

I place the blame squarely on the coaching staff.

Yes, we’ve had our share of poor execution from the players, but the philosophies on both sides of the ball are simply not very competitive in today’s NFL.

The sad thing is there's been minimal difference in results between the Winston and Freeman eras.

Where do you see talent?

We have a D3 level offensive line
We have a secondary that would make a HS JV coach cringe
We have a QB who can't hit a deep ball to save his life...can't read the field...makes shitty decisions

The ONLY talent on this team is MAYBE the LB corps

Honestly, before today I was pro Koetter, but his game planning has me scratching my head. We don't commit to the run at all, and we get so far behind we have no option but to pass.

At the very least he needs to hand the play calling over to Monken. Defense didn't lose this game today. Offensive can only score 3 points? You gotta be shitting me.

VH3 had a breakout game, that's literally the only good thing to take from this.

In all fairness, Winston’s play has been sub-par. Whether that’s due to scheme or talent is debatable.

And before you say WR...with a shitty QB...any talent they have is wasted

Again, receivers are open, which means for the most part the play is working, but Jameis either throws to the wrong read or misses the open target more often than not.

Season Over.

Time to ponder another regime change.

Time to start watching hockey.

The reason my kids do not follow football is the crappy play of the Buccaneers.

It's still talent, dumb ****.

The point of people's frustration is that we have so much talent on offense and our QB can't do anything with it. We have talent on the offensive line, our talent at WR/TE is near the top of the league, we have a very good RB, but it's wasted...it doesn't mean it's not there.

We have McCoy, 3 very good LBers, Grimes, jury is out on VHIII and Evans, but we have some talent on the defense...just not enough on the line or the secondary.

Hey, the Lightning are playing amazing hockey at the moment. Truly class of the league type stuff. We need more posters in the official TBL thread...

yeah, I'm not for firing Dirk after 2 seasons, but it does seem like coaching is the weak link for this team.

This team isn't the Steelers when it comes to talent level, but it's better than a lot of people on this board give it credit for. The defense has the talent to be mediocre and the offense is loaded with weapons. Average defense and very good offense can get you 10 wins in this league, especially with the NFC down this year.

Well at least the season is over for these clowns. My guess is we'll pick a QB at some point in the coming draft. Not to replace Jameis but to provide real live competition.

Come on draft.
