Rapid Reactions Week 6 38-33 Loss @ Arizona

Postby Nano » Sun Oct 15, 2017 6:15 pm

What the **** was this. Down 31-0 with our starting QB out...and we end up losing 38-33.

That was the best deep ball we've seen in years in Tampa. This team is fucked though...2-3 after the easy part of our schedule...and tbh, we've looked pretty bad this year. This is going to be a long year,

We passed up 5 points and lost by...5 points. But some posters will say that’s not how math works. This is on Dirk. You make the call to go for it then it’s on you if it doesn’t work.

At this point, all the garbage time offense is just pissing me off more than anything. Looking like a JV team for most of the game every week just to score points at the end of an ugly loss is like a spit in the face. Almost as if to remind us what we're capable of, but only when it doesn't matter.

let me explain again to you on the last going for 2 (all the other ones were stupid, we agree)

down 12, your options are

go for 2 now, get it+FG+TD+PAT to tie the game

or

kick the PAT now+FG+TD+2 point conversion to tie the game

notice something about those 2 scenarios?

They are the same thing just in a different order!

We needed the 2 either after that TD or the next one, it didn't matter. If anything I'd rather go for the 2 after the first TD (like Dirk did) so if I don't get it, I can strategize the rest of the game knowing I need 2 TD and instead of a FG and a TD.

They have no turnovers to blame on Winston, no accuracy issues with Winston.....but somehow they will blame Winston anyway.

Koetter has been a joke since day 1....I have always said Winston made Koetter look good in his first season as OC. Koetter couldn't get the Falcons offense anywhere until Kyle Shanahan came along...

Koetter is overrated....but Winston will shoulder all the blame.

We agree on all points. I would take the PAT first though.

I will say this though, all the garbage time scoring is frustrating but at least it shows our team isn't quitting in these scenarios like in the past.

After that **** show display, we are all talking Winston/Fitz/Koetter and not a word about our trash D...kinda weird

Defense had a horrible game , mostly the first half .It was almost like they were afraid to tackle AP , like they psyched themselves out our something

That is because the defense ineptitude has become expected.

I agree 100%, but you have to find some silver linings I guess. This was a tough loss to take.

Interesting point, and I think it's due to the offense's expectations going into the season. We have the #1 overall pick QB going into his 3rd season, signed a big play Pro Bowl WR, drafted the supposed best TE in the draft who fell to us. The offense has struggled to get going until late in games and it's frustrating people. The defense is perplexing me because they've put up excellent performances against Chicago/New England while crapping the bed and looking like losers against Minnesota/Arizona.
