2017 Sunday, Monday, Thursday & Saturday night game thread

Postby Babeinbucland » Mon Sep 18, 2017 9:47 pm

Detroit is making the Giants look puny. Just got a punt return for a TD. Very impressive. We may need to be concerned about them, they seem to have some good talent this year.

The Lions defensive front has been lights out. But I think it also has more to do with the fact that this year's Giants look like hot garbage. They're undisciplined, the offensive line stinks, Eli is scared, the timing on their plays are off, and they have a coach whose play-calling is atrocious.

I just hope the Giants stay consistent and this is the team that comes into RJS 10/1.

Unfortunately, this is also true.

Agreed.

The Bucs have a tough game next week on the road. No matter what happens in MN, I hope that they can follow it up the next week by DOMINATING a mess of a Giants team. I see that game as a chance for an early "statement" game for the team.

I'm not concerned about the Lions game though... I don't mean that in a douchey fan "one game at a time" BS way... I'll gladly look ahead (see above)... that one is just too far away with too many unknowns regarding both teams and between now and then for me to worry about.

Detroit looks great so far this season. Giants offense looks like crap. Can't run the ball. Can't protect Eli very well.

If Detroit can run the ball, watch out. They already have a great passing game. Adding a competent run game to that will make them very dangerous.

Lions have a fierce running game. They will test how well we play against the run. A friend of mine is a huge Minny fan and says they are pathetic this year and now that they lost their QB are truly rudderless. Hope he is correct.

Certainly that has been breathtakingly true in the past. Hopefully that is where it stays.

A healthy OBJ and Janoris Jenkins is going the make the Giants a much more difficult game for us than it was for the Lions.

With that said if they don't figure out a way to help Ereck Flowers it might not matter. I hope that's the case.

If you can't run the ball or protect your QB it's tough to be competitive in the NFL and you pretty much are forced to rely on your defense to win 13-10 type of games. The Giants are looking like last years Seahawks in that their Oline really stands out in games with how poor they are.

You mean their looking like this year's Seahawks, who probably look even worse offensively than the Giants.

I must support any peaceful protest against racism. What they are doing passively literally doesn't hurt anybody in a very violent sport. Is it a distraction? Only if folks allow it to be.

I am all about freedom of speech but the whole thing is stupid imo .. I mean it isn't accomplishing anything but division .. if they really want to do something about black men getting shot by cops why not look at how many cops are veterans with ptsd or some education on what to do when police are stopping you ...do something besides just pissing people off
