McNichols and Sims didn't impress last night even though they had a couple of the best runs. If the season started today McNichols would be gone, but its the first game of four. I hope to see improvements.

As for Aguayo denying he has a mental problem is like denying Donald Igwebuike had a cocaine problem.

Barber is overrated. McNichols won't make the final 53. I wouldn't be surprised if we bring in a RB off waivers later on to fill that last spot.

Typical bootz overreaction nonsense.

Mcnichols will be a 3rd back behind sims if not higher before seasons end.

Mixon would have looked nice as a Buc.

Shoulda traded up for either he or Cook. Our run game still sucks.

I don't think it is an issue with the runners, but with the blocking in front of them. Not many holes last night, as I recall.

Both Mixon and Cook have the vision to navigate the LOS and can make guys miss and break tackles. The problem last night is our runners couldn't do any of that. Look at Mixons runs, the guy made something out of nothing consistently.

You don't know what you're watching to no one's surprise. But the Bengals Oline was moving our D off the ball with ease. Mixon had a few nice broken tackles but for the most part he wasn't touched for the 1st 4-5 yards.

Mixon had tons of daylight on multiple runs last night. The DL was sloppy.

That's because he's capable of navigating the LOS. Mixon had some beautiful cuts and showed excellent burst. Our guys just run into the backs of the OL and then hesitated until they were brought down.

There weren't a ton of holes, but there were multiple times where there were very large cutback lanes that were ignored by the backs. Pass pro was still solid.

People need to also recognize that we basically ran a brand new group at OL, we had been practicing with Marpet at C, and Sweezy is in his first action with us.

That said, the effort from the OL was lackluster IMHO.

The run D needs to tighten it up, big time, or we're going to get eaten alive.

Maybe I missed it but how is no one talking about the Ryans?
Ryan Griffin looked really sharp out there and had a good command of the offense. Hands down the best back up vs the Bengals. His injury is a huge blow and maybe cost him his roster spot. I sure hope not.

Also, Ryan Smith was FLYING all over the field. Wow.

Exactly. I thought Martin and Quiz both looked pretty running the ball considering the blocking they had.

Been saying this for awhile, but if this team fails this year, it'll be because we ignored the OL and we ignored cornerback this offseason (sorry, Robert McClain.)

Yeah....I was quite disappointed and surprised really that we didn't do anything to improve the OL over the offseason.

Yeah, it's not like we added a guard and moved Marpet to C where he should be an instant upgrade over Hawley or anything.

I think it's just a reference to the fact that we will be having a new Guard this season in Sweezy.
