A deeper look inside those numbers shows you who the league LOVES.

-3 of the 4 NFC EAST teams have 5 primetime games and the Giants (who made the playoffs) arent one of them. The other 5 are the Steelers, Patriots, Packers, Chiefs and Falcons.

-NFC East is represented 10 times on SNF. By comparison the NYC South is represented twice. Both by the Falcons.

Mrs. NH and I are going to try and get down there for the Pat's game. Probably cheaper to fly down, get tickets and hotel than it would be to see a game in Foxborough.

I like playing the Pats on TNF. Those games are usually less about preparation and more about which team is fresher and runs the ball better.

Ending the season with three divisional games is gonna be fun ... it's been a while since that's happened (if at all).

Love the Pats game time.

FLA needs an editor ;)

This schedule is excellent.

We open up with three very winnable games, setting us up with some really nice momentum going on to face the Giants in Raymond James. I like having the Pats on TNF, I'd gladly lose a day of prep if it means BB loses one too. Pats have three very tough teams to open up the season which could lead to a classic "Patriot slow start". We get to play at home, so less travel, always a plus. And even if we don't get a new RB, Martin should be back for that game so there's that.

Should we beat that Pats that would get the whole season rolling, even if not there's plenty of room to regain our footing. Lots of winnable games after the Pats. We get what should be a nice match up vs the Jets so we get to go into the BYE week on a high note and practice hard to face the Falcons in Atlanta. Atlanta, on the other hand, would have just had to face the Panthers in NC, the Cowboys at home, and then come off a Monday Night game in Seattle before facing us. It's almost like the schedule makers WANT us to do well. No more than two away games in a row.

We should be very well established and know where we stand after the BYE week, which is good because it's big boy time for the home stretch. Four divisional games, other two vs the Lions and Packers. Schedule makers probably expect the week 15 match up vs the Falcons to be huge, which is likely. Just wow. I don't think I could have given us a better schedule if I tried.

I actually like the schedule, I think/hope by the time it gets tough after our by-week we'll be in a good stride like we were late in the season last yr minus the late collapse! Obviously I believe we will be a improved team too and therefore ready for this schedule. I think we have a few tough opponents but we have them at home, now I know most of you will point out our obvious home record over the last yrs but that can't last forever! Right?? Idk, a lot of hopeful optimism from me heading into this season! Also water is wet. Lol

Three out of 4 at home to end the season...works for me.

IMO, if Brady is playing, we have no chance against NE, so I'm glad we play them on a short weak.

I would never say we no chance against ANY team in the NFL, right now!! Traveling teams don't fare very well on the short week of TNF games.

I saw that the Bucs were one of a handful of teams Brady has never lost to (3-0). So if we beat the Pats after one of their SB wins it wasn't against Brady, must have been the Matt Cassel season.

The worst one was that time Greg Schiano did everything short of hump Belichick's leg during the game. I'm surprised he didn't offer to loan Bill some of his timeouts or challenges.

Indeed. The Patriots started 2-2 or worse in three of their four Super Bowl-winning seasons, which is probably why people tend to think of them as slow-starters. Thought it's really not an accurate label given their 42-14 record (.750) in the first four games of seasons since 2002 is the best in the NFL.
Either way the Pats have a bit of a gauntlet their opening series. They have to take on the Chiefs, who are a very tough team, then play the high powered Saints in the Dome, then player Houston. Texans actually fared very well against the Pats in the playoffs despite the final score. Brady went 18-38, 287 YDS, 2 TD, 2 INT. If Houston would only have a competent QB.... Then they face the Panthers- and who knows which Panthers team they'll get next year. It's a tough slate of opening games.

Meanwhile we'll be coming off of a humbling defeat or a soaring win when the Giants visit us. It will also be our second home game in a row, so no travel.

Granted, these are all little things. But hey, against the Pats I'll take all the little things I can. Four of the six TNF games tha Pats have played in were decided by 3 points or less (3-1). The other two were blowouts of the Dolphins and Texans but they were also in Foxboro.

I mean at the end of the day the Pats are the best franchise in the NFL with the all time GOAT. There's no getting around that. But hey, even they lose games. And to be the best you have to beat the best. Bring it on.

If our D-line comes to play we can compete w/ the Pats. It's really the only time you see Brady (like most every QB) and the Pats offense struggle is when the opposing D-line imposes their will on the game. On that same note, I think the Bucs offense (Jameis) can do some damage vs the Patriots through the air. Trey Flowers is their leading pass rusher (7 sacks) and they lost both Chris Long and Jaball Sheard this offseason. They don't have a pass rusher on the team that scares anyone, Flowers, Nikovich, and Ealy are the bigger types that our Tackles (Smith/Dotson) have an easier time with.

The Patriots have a pretty tough schedule this year compared to years past. That division (AFCE) is still terrible, Dolphins should be better, but Bills and Jets will be tomato cans. But they play some tougher games vs the AFCW and NFCS which are both deep divisions, along w/ @Pit and Houston.

I could see the Pats at 11-5 at worst this year with that schedule.

NE are champs and should be even better this year with Cooks added and Gronk back. Unless Brady shows his age, they are the class of the league.

I am going to try and go to Bucs game vs Panthers on X'mas Eve. It's only a 3-1/2 hour drive. I know. I say this every year. But hopefully, this will really be the year now that I have some friends that actually live in Charlotte. They said we could spend that night at their place and not have to drive back. But that was BEFORE we knew it would be on X'mas eve, so we'll see if that offer still stands.

As for the schedule. Not too shabby. The middle section is kinda rough...After the 5th game, 5 of next 7 games are on the road. The week 11 bye helps make it a little more palatable, but that's still a pretty rough stretch of being on the road a lot.

Also a divisional game so more familiar. History has shown the road team does statistically worse on TNF than on Sundays or MNF, which I believe was the point.

Agreed. Ratings were down what, +/-15% last year. This is the NFL trying to lure the casual, primetime only watcher back in.
