Roy Cummings‏ @RCummingsFRS

Here's hoping the #Buccaneers are ready for their close-up. They have been chosen for Hard Knocks. Official announcement coming Wednesday

Now I can see Gerald "Smileyface" McCoy be this "new leader" he spoke about in his presser.

Awesome. Haven't watched Hard Knocks before, so can those fill the rest of us in on how it works?

For example, how far behind are the episodes to real life?

Honestly I wish Gerald would try and be more of the strong/silent type. Every time he opens his mouth he comes across as a complete clown.

Not all that surprising as there will be some interesting story lines. Winston of course, the kicking competition, the arrival of DJax, the development of Kwon. Now imagine if we take a RB high for the whole DM drug suspension story. I imagine HBO is pulling for McCaffrey to get drafted. That would be ratings gold.

Exciting news. We have a tough act to follow. The Rams relocation last year made for a very good Hard Knocks season. I'm mostly interested in the candor from players and coaches on the show.

It's a weekly show that is only like 5 episodes which tracks the team through the preseason. It stays pretty close to what is happening in real life meaning that if we play a preseason game on the weekend it is covered on the next episode.

1st episode is just prior to the first preseason game and sets the stage for the team. Talks about offseason additions like DJax and team leaders like Jameis and McCoy.

Then there is an episode each week that will cover the practices, meetings, behind the scenes stuff leading up to and including the next preseason game.

The final episode is after the final cutdown to 53. Cutting players is always a focal point of the final 2 episodes. Just has Hardknocks will focus the headliners like Winston, they will spend an equal amount of time on some camp meat unlikely to make the roster. Kournei Brown was a one of these Hardknocks darlings for the Texans a couple years ago.

They also showcase players with alot of personality, so I wouldn't be surprised if an Ali Marpet or Robert Ayers get alot of screen time.

I think the HBO app uploads shows a day after they premier. I'm not sure if you have to have a cable provider or not. But I do remember last year my wife downloading the app so she could watch the Beyonce feature a day after it premiered .

You don't need a provider to subscribe to he HBO app only.

The provider would only come into play if you have HBO as part of cable package already and wanted to access HBO through the app.

Also as clw stated, if HBO has free month that would be good since hardknocks is 5 weeks

That's a bit disappointing, thought it lasted the whole season.

Nope. That All or Nothing show on Amazon was all season. With the Cardinals. I thought it was fantastically done.

The Cards one on Amazon is certainly a better series than Hard knocks. But both are better than nothing.

It's just a another distraction for the team. But losers use distractions as an excuse. These NFL guys have tons of potential distractions, so this is just another.

From a fans perspective I don't know how it's a bad thing. This is a good young team to showcase to a national audience.

I just can't see how it helps us on the field. Though it is not that big of a deal, all it can do is hurt; even if it's only a little bit. If you disagree, please explain how being on hard knocks helps us win come week 1.

Granted, I'll be watching the **** out of it every week. It's good business and it is good for the fans. Money will be made...

Will losing a game by one point attribute to being on hard knocks? idk.

If you eat some candy before a game, it's probably not that big of a deal, but wouldn't you say it hurt your chances? even a teeny tiny bit? Everything matters in this game of inches. Jmo.
