Word on the street is that labradoodle can run a 4.5 40, and Jameis escaped him like he was nothing.

47TDs 10ints ...5200 yards...11+ wins and a trip to the SB with a win

And as usual he will fail to win the Mvp because of Erica ...we move on!

I give you my word that if he challenges the NFL's passing yardage mark, flirts with 50 TDs, wins 11+ games, and raises the Lombardi, that yes, he will win MVP. :chillpill:

Good to see Sanka is still batshit crazy ;)...

As far as JW in 2017..

He's gotta lead us to 10+ wins and the playoffs..We've gotta have it this year..

Statistically...4000 yards, 31TDs and 15 int..5 rushing TDs

I think he is always gonna be a 2/1 guy..Some just are..

Expectations gotta be high now. No excuses. Is there any reason why we shouldn't be expecting a Derek Carr like leap in year 3?

Statistically, I'm hoping to see a line close to 4250 yards, 32 TDs, and <16 INTs. Also want to see that completion percentage bump up into the 65% range.

But most importantly 10 Ws and a playoff berth.

If Winston does that, he's officially gotten himself into "Elite QB" status.

His footwork/inconsistency. He was in the top 3 of most off target throws by a QB last year (I think I read that correctly) and a lot of it appears to be from his footwork.

Cheb wrote:Three things.

I want more consistent footwork, especially by cutting unnecessary hitches after he is done with his drop. This is directly tied to his accuracy. You can spend a play watching Jameis's feet and accurately predict whether the pass will be good or bad based on what you see. While this has improved from when he was in college, it is still a work in progress. With better footwork comes better accuracy.

Second, I want him to take smart checkdown. While it is exciting when he fires a contested ball into traffic and it works, it is excruciating when it does not. He tries to be a big damn hero far too often, and he needs to learn that you can't score every play, live to fight another down, et cetera.

Third, I expect the team to be in playoff contention in December, barring an unlucky string of injuries. Jameis, being the leader of the team and offense, figures into that calculus.

Didn't even read the thread...

If Winston does that, he's officially gotten himself into "Elite QB" status.

He put up more yards and the same number of TDs as Carr last year. So I think it's safe to say he is in that range. But you're right, QBs do tend to make their bones in the third year (unless you Blake Bortles). Carr's was pretty much the same year 2 to 3, so IDK if you'd want to use him as the "leap" example. Though he did cut his INTs in half, I really doubt Winston will ever be that guy. I actually see a Luck junior year to be more like it. Still throwing 16 INTs, but 4760 yards and 40 TDs. Still likely hovering around 60% completion.

I think asking for a Luck junior year is rather high, though not impossible. I would be happy with your proposed stat line.

Cut down on the INTs somewhat. I care more about 'when' the INTs occur rather the quantity itself. For example, an INT on a hailmary doesn't even register to me. Or ones that come on deep passes when it's 3rd-n-long, or in the final 5 minutes of a game when we are down multiple scores and he's pressing throws he normally would not in an effort to make something happen.

I wish there was a way segment those situations when it comes to INTs tbh.

I care about INTs when it's a one score game, or we have a lead. The one's that actually hurt momentum (if you believe in such a thing) and that flip field position. I care about turnovers that directly lead to points for the opponents.

As for stats in 2017. I wouldn't be surprised if Jameis enters into MVP consideration this year. 4500yds 30-35TDs, 15 or less INTs. Most importantly a playoff berth.

I do too. My big one is on perfectly placed/thrown balls that the receiver bobbles to the defense.

It's possible. Luck did it his junior year. Carr was in it for awhile too. But that's a tough standard. Took Cam like 6 years, took Ryan like 10. Then you have a guy like Brees who should be in it every single year but because his team sucks he's not. MVP's have been ass backward for awhile now. Winston will be in it if we're one of the best teams (record) in the league, if not then not. Just the way it goes.

3756 yards
16 TDs
21 INTs
57.7 comp pct
Injured in week 14

Bucs regress to 5-11 and the big topic next offseason is whether Winston is the future, or should our new GM and HC draft a QB(maybe for competition) As is tradition when our hype gets too big, the football gods will strike us down

Poor Nano. All he's experienced is pain and suffering as a Bucs fan.

Rest easy bud, it's going to be fun next 10 years for the fans. Try to enjoy the good times that are on the way, we all deserve it after the past decade.
