Schefty..

Former Washington WR DeSean Jackson expects to sign with Tampa assuming no breakdown in final negotiations.

No free agent signing is going to rule out a player in the draft. Look at Licht's history of signing vets and drafting players at the same positions.

PFT adds the drama.

There seems to be enough wiggle room in the DeSean Jackson reporting to give someone else a chance to swipe him from the Buccaneers.

I like it, but I still think we have to draft a receiver at some point during the draft.

Just don't see John Ross still there at #19.

I want the signing to happen because I want them to be able to execute their preferred strategy and it's obvious how he'll open up things for the offense. But I wouldn't be terribly depressed if someone swooped in and stole him due to not really liking him. I'm also worried about how he'll react when Jameis tries to get him to come run routes in the offseason to establish chemistry since his work ethic has been questioned in the past.

I don't care as long as he gets 1,000 yards and 5-10 touchdowns. As our number 2

I don't know that these benchmarks are even necessary to make it a very effective signing. I could see him getting 800 yards but everyone else on the team, including Evans, improving on their numbers due to what his presence does to the defense. I'd love for those five TDs to be loooooong TDs.

Over his 9 year career DJax has averaged 1000 yds 5TDs per season while playing atleast 14 games in 7/9.

If those averages hold true than I'd be pleased.

Not concerned with the #1 or #2 titles at all. Evans and Djax are both really good NFL WRs and more importantly compliment each other very well imo. They will each benefit from the other in terms of coverage they face.

Assuming we get Djax today (officially) it makes me really want to grab a TE out of this talented class. Howard may be gone at 19, but rounds 2-3 will still have good options.

After a season in which the longest offensive play was 45 yards, the team went out and got one of the most explosive playmakers in the game. I like it.

Yup, DJax had FOUR plays of over 50yds on his own last season.

Since 2008, Jackson has:
- 37 50-yard receptions
- 21 50-yard receiving TD
- 26 50-yard TD overall

All are most in the NFL in that time.

I'm not worried about it 1 bit..

JW is the sherrif in Tampa...DJax will do what he needs to I'm sure..

Or we wouldn't be looking at adding him...

Good compliment to Evans in theory. Only concerns are his age and hips penchant for drama. Assuming he doesn't become an old man overnight physically while also being maintaining his composure and maturity on the field, then we should have one explosive and dangerous pair of WR"s.

Brandon Marshall says he likes the move. Thinks DJax is going to explode, complimentary of Jameis.

If anything it adds depth to the position. He can still give us 1000 yards its a win. I am just curious to see the money portion of this.

Agreed. Jameis won't put up with laziness. If DJ tries that ****, I believe JW will call him out.

I thought I heard Schefter say he's getting at least 11 million annually. But the more important number is guaranteed dollars and if the contract is backloaded at all. We'll find out later today I guess.

This is the #1 FA most of this board wanted. He changes the entire complexion of our offense. We have an explosive player for those explosive plays Koetter is always talking about.

Now who is #2 FA wanted here?
