I hope we're not paying MW again

Yeah, who are these people? Hopkins is a beast who would be a household name with a good QB. I wouldn't call this contract a bargain for the Texans, but it was absolutely market value.

As for MW...yeah...he gonna get paid. The sooner we do it the better. The number is only gonna go up.

If Licht paid Evans tomorrow we would get a steal.

I can't believe either wants to see him go into 2018 without a deal, and I absolutely expect one to happen next offseason. We need to just give the man what he wants. Make him the highest paid receiver in the league. He's literally the best and most talented skill position player in the history of our franchise and he just turned 24. There's no reason he shouldn't get a huge extension now and another one at 28 or 29.

Thankfully, while Licht has made some bad/odd decisions, I don't think for a nanosecond he'd ever let Evans sniff the open market. Or Winston, obviously. And I don't think we go through the trouble of converting Marpet to center if he's not on the list, too. The only guy I'm not sure about is Kwon, with his suspension trouble and a potential replacement already on the roster. My biggest concern is that we overpay Donovan Smith to keep him.

Kwon? Hell no. They would let LVD go first.

Which is precisely why it won't happen. It wouldn't surprise me if Evans goes into 2018 without an extension.

Seattle gets DT Sheldon Richardson and a 7th rd pick from the Jets, who get WR Jermaine Kearse, and 2nd & 7thrd picks.

Seattle's defense is going to be nasty if they stay healthy.

Awesome deal for Seattle.

Jets are the most obvious NFL tank job I've ever seen.

Interesting predictions, almost nobody picks Dallas to win the east, and bucs and falcons are evenly split on the picks for the south with nobody picking panthers or saints

Assuming that Richardson actually starts to give a rip again, it is an incredible deal for Seattle. But the risk for them is that he won't. You don't know. I think he will personally, and obviously they do too.

As for the Jets, it's still a good move for them. Richardson had become a real locker room problem for them of late and he wasn't in the plans. They got a 2nd rounder, and they cleared up a murky DL situation. Plus, I really like Kearse. He's no superstar, but he can play. Going into the season with Robbie Anderson and ArDarius Stewart was a farce.

The Browns are paying him $16 mil, and the Broncos at or near the league minimum. Though honestly, I think I'd sell $16 mil of cap space we probably don't need for a 2nd rounder like the Browns did.

Cross is an important ST player and the defacto FB. He's not at the bottom of the list.

One could argue that we could rollover that theoretical cap space, and could then use that amount of money to, for example, secure Mike Evans to a long term deal.

It would be an intriguing idea, though.

Hell no. I don't remember being picked to win the division by a majority of talking heads and general fans in 2014. It's kind of weird tbh. Maybe Hard Knocks is having a positive affect on viewers?

Idk, I remember everyone overhyped us because we got Lovie Smith(supposed to bring us back to old buc football), we signed Josh McCown coming off a great season, and we drafted basketball on grass(Mike Evans). Maybe not winning the division but we were the really trendy dark horse pick to make the playoffs that offseason

Would you consider any of these 2 to be under the Bucs radar?

Personally, I think we have a younger Forte (3rd down back) in Sims but I wouldn't mind the veteran presence of TJ on this defense, we know we have leadership on the DL and LB, but I don't think we have this kind of presence on our Defensive backfield.

I guess the front office thought the same as me.. I'm glad we picked up Ward, he's going to tighten our secondary.
