The Los Angeles Times' Gary Klein reports the Rams will decline 2014 first-rounder Greg Robinson's fifth-year team option for 2018.

Duh. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2014 draft, Robinson has been a colossal bust. He's arguably been the worst left tackle in the sport since entering the league and is now being flipped to right tackle by the Sean McVay coaching staff. We doubt he proves much better there. The Rams haven't been able to find a capable left tackle since Hall of Famer Orlando Pace moved on, and they smartly plugged the hole with veteran Andrew Whitworth as a priority free agent.

Those Lions uniforms are sweet. The grays are much sharper than the blues, though. If I cared about the Lions, I would have wanted those as the primaries. It's not like a team can't ever change it's primary color (cough.)

I hated the blue and black, but these are cool.

LOL. I remember there were quite a few on here that were super high on Robinson.

According to the New York Post's Brian Costello, a fourth-round pick is "about as much" the Jets can hope for in exchange for DE Sheldon Richardson.
This jibes with what has been reported over the past couple weeks, especially since the Eagles acquired DT Timmy Jernigan from the Ravens by exchanging third-rounders. The Jets are fully expected to keep shopping Richardson on draft weekend, but a possible hangup may be Richardson only having one year left on his deal. He's said to be looking for a $100 million extension. (That's laughable considering his off-field past and bad 2016.) A fourth- or fifth-rounder may be all that's offered, and GM Mike Maccagnan will have to weigh whether it's enough.

Todd Heap accidently struck and killed his 3-year old daughter with his truck in his driveway. Tragic. :(

No. It happened last year because the intradivisional matchups aligned. Before that it hadn't happened since the 90s I believe.

Thanks. Maybe it's usually a replay of NFCCG/AFCCG. For some reason I had that in my head.

Panthers sign DT Kawann Short to a 5yr/$80mil extension. He'll get $40mil in the 1st 2 years alone.

Good lord!!

Can't wait to see the Aaron Donald and Khalil Mack contract extension when they happen.

Short is a heck of a player, but has 1 season w/ over 6 sacks.

Makes McCoy (who surprisingly is only 1 year older than Short) seem like a bargain, especially considering McCoy's guarantees are over after the 2017 season and he has a cap number averaging around $13m for the remainder of his contract.

Short, like McCoy, is doubled consistently and thus far has only 4 years under his belt. Keep in mind that at the same point in his career, McCoy too had only 1 season with over 6 sacks and it wasnt a double digit season like McCoy. McCoy in fact had fewer sacks his 1st 4 years than Short had. So really it's about right.

Donald is outpacing both of them in terms of sacks. It aint even close.

No, it doesn't. But you said that's why the NFL did it last year.

Okay. That's why they did it last year. Doesn't mean it'll automatically happen if it aligned that way annually.

I'm not suggesting Short is overpaid, it's the going rate. The totals in there first 4 years are certainly comparable. If the Panthers didn't pay Short someone else would have, and perhaps even more on the open market.

But since McCoy was a pre-CBA draft pick he was already into his 6th NFL season and still a year younger (27) than Short is now (28) and having just played 4 NFL seasons. Basically McCoy came into the NFL at 22 and Short was 24 (both are Feb birthdays).

So my point about McCoy being a 'bargain' was that he was a more proven NFL commodity in addition to being younger at the time of contract extension. It wasn't a slight to Short at all, who I believe is a fantastic DT. Plus we've already bit the bullet on McCoy's deal in terms of guarantees and higher capped years. So he's 'bargain' when looking at a year to year contract comparison between the two over the next 3 season (keeping in mind McCoy is only 1 year older).
