Looks like a Falcons-Patriots SB rematch in week 1 will be unlikely according to the NFL. Also, supposedly Atlanta will have a primetime game in week 2 as they open their new stadium. The full schedule should come out in 2 weeks.

Contract-year Bengals coach Marvin Lewis isn't expecting an extension.

Lewis signed a one-year extension almost a year ago to the day. He said in January he would like another, though he now claims it's "not really a subject that's on my mind." North American coaches almost never head into the final year of a deal without an extension. Lewis has been in lockstep with owner Mike Brown since 2003, but perhaps Brown's patience is finally wearing thin.

I give Lewis credit for basically rebuilding that team 3 times. But man he has absolutely nothing to show for it other than a few division titles.

The visit will take place next week. Thus far, Peterson has visited the Seahawks and Patriots. The Seahawks aren't an option with Eddie Lacy in tow, while Peterson's New England visit was reported to be a sham, as in mostly a favor for AD's agent. Peterson would be a redundant talent to Mark Ingram in New Orleans, though Ingram's relationship with coach Sean Payton hasn't always been the best. Nevertheless, it's hard to see Peterson to New Orleans happening.

Wasnt he just talking to Jameis about coming here now he is meeting with the Saints? So Im guessing the Bucs said No thanks

The fact this guy isnt on a team right now should tell him everything.

What is working against him is the deep RB class in this draft.

Lewis is very Dungy like in that sense. A great coach you want building your team, but not one that will get you over the hill in battle.

He was never talking to Jameis about coming here. Where did you get that idea from? Because they worked out together?

I think your last two statements cancel out. This isn't so much a reflection on AP as it is this draft class. Pretty sure he's a lot of teams Plan B. Which is where he should be.

I have been in contact with a Bucs ticket rep she said the schedule will be released next week. I have been on the edge about buying tickets for the season.

I think you're misinterpreting the rule change to replay. The overwhelming majority of reviews cut to a commercial almost before the challenge flag hits the ground and it is only plays late in the game which do not result in a commercial (drama I guess). It may be faster to announcement on the field but they will almost always go to commercial. If the league was cutting out replay commercial, it would have been announced.

It'll be a little bit faster.....maybe.

1st - how does the game go to commercial before the challenge flag thrown, considering the challenge flag is what prompts the ref to stop the play/game clock?

2nd - The rule changes around replay were done to speed up the game. Replay and the time from a TD to the ensuing kickoff were two areas of 'dead time' the NFL looked to address this offseason.

behind on this thread so this might have been mentioned.. when a turnover occurs, more times than not a commercial follows.. instead of the challenge occuring and being reviewed during that break, they come back to the game only to have the flag thrown, which then they go to a commercial again.

He didn't play in the Superbowl. They probably would've won if he had. Jalen Collins got abused in the 2nd half.

Jim McBride of the Boston Globe expects the Patriots to re-sign free agent LeGarrette Blount "sooner rather than later."

CSN New England reported Saturday that the Patriots have offered Blount a deal. Blount was seen hugging owner Bob Kraft at Wednesday's Celtics game. The 30-year-old hoped cash in after leading the league with 18 touchdowns last season, but his market didn't develop the way he thought. Blount is a one-dimensional role player whose best fantasy prospects remain in Foxboro.

MMQB's Albert Breer believes it's "more likely" restricted free agent Malcolm Butler plays for the Saints this season than the Patriots.

The Saints aren't going to sign Butler to an offer sheet and willingly part with their early first-round pick, but Breer ultimately expects Butler to sign his tender with the Patriots, which will then put in motion a potential trade in the week leading up to the draft. If Butler ends up with New Orleans, it's possible the Patriots then turn their attention to acquiring disgruntled Richard Sherman.

Why are you ignoring the fact the Falcons blew a 25pt lead in the Super Bowl?

How is that ignoring it? They blew a huge lead. We know this. Trufant likely makes a difference though. You disagree?

The Boston Herald's Jeff Howe reports Marshawn Lynch has "privately expressed interest" in playing for the Patriots "if talks break off with the Raiders."

Talks between Lynch and the Raiders seem to not have much movement to them, though we would expect negotiations to pick up as we draw nearer to the draft. It's possible Lynch is floating the Patriots idea out to the media as a way to get the Raiders moving with this. It sounds like Lynch fully plans to make a comeback. He just needs he Raiders and coach Jack Del Rio to sign off on it.

Not nearly as painful as blowing a 25 point lead in the Super Bowl.

I wanted Trufant in 2013 and hoped he would be there in the second. Guy is a very good corner. Could be great.

Trufant's a good one for sure. Now that I think of it, University of Washington has been pumping out some damn good DBs in recent years. Trufant & Peters are top corners. Not to mention prospects like Jones/King/Baker this year.

Yup. U-Dub is a pretty good program right now. They pull a lot of talent out of Cali.

Fun to watch at home too. The crowd is every bit as nuts as South Carolina or Nebraska.

Pac-12 is great for skill positions, so is the Big-12. Give me B1G and SEC linemen all day.

It's funny because Trufant was widely considered a notch below DJ Hayden and Xavier Rhodes heading into that draft. He ended up going ahead of Rhodes, but for most he was in that conversation with the Mississippi State duo and David Amerson, as a 2nd round guy you got if you missed out on those two.

But Darrelle Revis? He just keeps on keeping on. Well done, One Buc.

Former Cowboys QB Tony Romo has yet to file his retirement papers and doesn't have any immediate plans to do so.

Until he does, there will continue to be speculation about Romo's plans. He's committed himself to CBS Sports as a color man next to Jim Nantz, but Romo's heart still seems to be in the game as a player. It'll be interesting to see if he's able to be lured back to the game when teams start hitting the field for preseason action. Romo is free to sign with any team since he was released.
