Winston is worth 1 of those guys and 1 first, or both firsts.

Assuming they can get the defense back on track, they don't need a Winston. A Fitz might well be enough.

No matter, they should have made a hard run at a QB in the offseason. I am not sure they could have signed Cousins, but he would have been worth targeting. Same with Alex Smith.

Next years 1st round pick and 2020's 2nd round pick. Negotiate from there, but the 1st round pick is required.

It's a tough fit because they won't have a high draft pick. Otherwise, I'd say something like two firsts. If it was say, the Cardinals, I'd say two firsts, realistically.

I am not a Winston fan but unlikely a team would trade their young QB that was #1 overall pick.
Other than Carson Palmer from Bengals to Raiders (or Raiders to AZ), not too many starting QBs get traded midseason.

By the time player gets up to speed on new playbook / offense, the season is over.

Edit: However; this is the Yucks we are talking about so....

A 2nd Round Pick.

Heck, I'll make it a first if they play hardball.

Bortles is simply not productive enough. Too many drives stall, their offense goes cold and he really is inconsistent. Granted he doesn’t have a full compliment of weapons right now. But he really has not made many strides since 2014. The reason they went with him and didn’t bother to seek other QB help is he has more playoff wins than Smith & Cousins have in their entire careers combined. That’s why using win/loss record as an exclusive QB stat is foolish.

Anything to get Winston out of this miserable place and a chance to win the SB. Finally having a defense and a great running back in Fournette.

Big difference: Smith, Cousins, and Bortles all played on different teams. Fitzpatrick and Winston don't. It's pretty much as apples to apples as you can possibly get in the NFL. We've won more with Fitzpatrick since he joined the team, by a wide margin. Even if we're too cowardly to ever consider benching Winston, for this fact alone excuse me if I'm not thrilled with the idea of giving him a nine figure contract.

A more honest question: would the Jags have won more games with Chad Henne? Would the Chiefs have won more games with Chase Daniel or Tyler Bray? Would the Redskins have won more games with Colt McCoy? The answers are maybe, no, and hell no. In fact, how many "franchise quarterbacks" can we name who lose more games than their backups? Is the answer...none? I think it's none.

Tyrod Taylor is 1-1-1 as a Brown, 9-7-1 since last year.
Mayfield is 1-3-0.

Blaine Gabbert is 2-0 as a Titan this year.
Marriota is 1-4 this year.

So no, not none.

Nick Foles 1-1
Carson Wentz 2-3

Since 2017 Wentz has 5 losses, Foles has 2 and won a Super Bowl MVP.

So yea, like Doc said the answer is not none.

Back on subject, the Jags aren’t built around their QB position. If Fournette is healthy and their defense was playing at their peak form this likely isn’t even a discussion. Bortles did enough when he had a run game and defense. But he’s the guy this year and sans the Patriots game he’s not shown that ability in his career.

Just keep it light. Those with an agenda and hatred shine bright like a diamond. Those who know this thread is trashy and pathetic are obvious too. Like the guy who stated he’d trade Winston if the Jags traded 3 cornerstone pieces of their defense and 2 1st round picks. As well as the others who agreed with him.

Bonedars mistakes are a clear visual, but poop on that, we got ten games to go and he could step up big. That is what we need and that is what I want.

Bonedar is Winston named by mdb for his proficiency at screwing key plays at key times. That said he is the QB leading my team and I back him 100%.

I just wish there was a simple med he could take that wipes away those moments.
