I think Baker was ousted more so because he wasn’t productive at all on the field. What issues did he cause in the locker room? Suh is another type of animal. I’d take his character issues if they truly exist because he’s an absolute beast on the field. Baker was not.

This post could be copied for Richardson.

Also, can anyone tell me why Jerick McKinnon is being signed for more than Carlos Hyde?

I'd be EXTREMELY pleased...we could even sub in/out Patrick Robinson for Gaines (not that I like them the same, but we NEED CB help/depth)...

But I have no ****ing clue what Licht is doing/thinking in regards to our pass rush and DL....we're gonna get 15 sacks next year at the pace we are going...

Maybe Licht REALLY believes Brentson Buckner makes this group + DL rookie into a competent pass rush?

It's a combination of the two. He without a doubt wasn't productive, but when I heard that players had to be pulled away from him after the Panthers loss I knew his attitude wasn't a fit.

That’s an isolated incident. Maybe it played a role but I truly don’t think it was as big of a deal as fans like to believe it was. He wasn’t worth his contract anymore because of his lack of production on the field.

He had a big mouth and didn't back it up. I guarantee the players that are still here are happy he's gone.

9 sacks in 2016 but missed last year with a torn ACL.

Murphy was a very good player before that ACL. This would certainly be intriguing.

There's someone nobody thought would be an option and he'd be an addition to a non-existent pass rush. I'm down. Do it Dom!!

This screams FA bust to me. I'm sure Belichick would find a way to turn him into a useful player, but if he got a big contract here I feel like he'd be another one and done type FA signing.

Better than sitting on our hands hoping someone falls out of the sky. The only way we guarantee ourselves of not fixing the pass rush is by doing nothing.

That link says Murphy is a linebacker?..so is he a true 3-4 outside passrusher or closer to a 4-3 DE?...

I'm tellin ya, I have a STRONG feeling we are going more towards that 3-4 base...

Redskins fan that I work with said Murphy is listed as LB for them because they are 3-4, "but he ain't covering nobody". Said he'd be a 4-3 DE.

Trent Murphy is not what the #Bucs need. He's a hybrid 3-4 player, has no position along a 4-3 DL and wouldn't start ahead of OLB Kendell Beckwith.

I don't disagree with you at all. Just still gives me the feeling of a bust FA move. If Licht signs him to a deal that's easy to escape from I won't complain. Just a bad offseason to have a desperate need for pass rush.

He was a 4-3 DE at Stanford. It wouldn't be the first time he put his hand in the dirt.

Thanks...

But that's fine, if we put LVD at the drop LB spot (Kwon/Beck inside) we are damn near there....

Spence subs for Murphy or LVD (depending in situations)..

LVD can slide into the middle for Beckwith on passing down/distance...

All we need is the damn phenom nose tackle to make it all click...

I see you Mr. Vea...I see you clear as day...

Murphy is like 6'6" 260lbs. He's an EDGE defender that plays downhill attacking the LOS. He's not space LB/defender.

Murphy is best used as a 4-3 DE. But would be stongside OLB in a 3-4 playing over the TE side of the formation.

I'm betting our days of being a 4-3 are about done....at least as our base defense..

Especially if we nab Vea, whom you like as well, no?

With the price RBs are starting to go for now, I'd pass. I had no clue the RB market would be this hot, it's usually a slow to develop one.
