Koetter always talked great about him, remember, the Bucs were going to make him the highest backup paid with the contract they offered (Of course I think Jimmy G. had a bigger deal before he got dealt).

I wouldn't mind having him back, he already knows the system and the players.

The Boston Globe considers the Lions a potential landing spot for free agent Dion Lewis.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports "confidants of [Dolphins owner] Stephen Ross" informed him that Ross "was ready to move on" from DT Ndamukong Suh.

$26.1mil cap number. Most of it is guaranteed. Dolphins would only save $3.9mil by releasing him.

If they straight cut him then it tells me that the Dolphins just don't want him in the locker room.

Yeah, but they're just going to carry the NFL Network feed, not run their own broadcast. Which is too bad; I'd be interested to see how a 3rd network would handle it.

Yep. Especially when you consider they currently only have a little over $7mil in cap space, cutting such a big impact player and netting a very minimal cap return will hurt on the field.

Or possibly because they only have $7 mil, $4 mil in savings will make a huge difference?

Dunno. Not in the Dolphins locker room. I've met Suh a few times in the last few years and I have no trouble believing he's a turd. But a lot of assumptions here.

Who do you replace a player like Suh with? If you replace him with a player who will make more than the $4mil savings that "huge difference" theory is out of the window.

$22m dead cap hit on a $26m cap charge.

Suh isn't going anywhere this offseason.

If you have $7 mil under the cap, and you can increase that number by 57% with one roster move, that's not nothing.

As for their roster, it's one of their deepest positions. Jordan Phillips, Devon Godchaux, and Vincent Taylor can all play.

I just wouldn't make blanket assumptions, that's all. I'm not even saying you're wrong...I know Kong Suh better than 100% of the rest of the board, and he's a jerk. But to simply assuming about a locker room you're not in is something casuals do.

And here you go manipulating figures yet again. You can never just stand on the numbers alone. You always attempt and fail at deception. 57% is just $3.9mil, sweetheart. $3.9mil doesn't get their 1st & 2nd round picks signed in the draft.. And as Dread stated $22mil in dead cap. THAT is not something a team would want to take on if they don't have to.

You're also trying way too hard if you think those 3 can replace Ndamukong Suh. A 2nd round pick from 2015 with 4.5 career sacks in 3 years who basically lost his starting job because he sucks and 2 guys who were 5th & 6th round picks respectively just last April. There's nothing at all deep about their DT position without Suh. Don't go into troll mode.

You clearly don't watch enough football or you'd know how promising their defensive tackle unit is, sweetie, but congrats on having inner knowledge of the social structure of the Dolphins locker room, *****. I didn't realize you had an in with the franchise.

I've watched a lot of Dolphins games. Those of us who live in the Bay area get the Dolphins more than any other NFL team than the Bucs. Again, there's a reason Phillips has all but lost his starting job. And it has nothing to do with Godchaux or Taylor. There's not much promise in those 3. It's like saying we'd be okay letting Evans walk because we have Godwin, Hump, and Bobo Wilson. But of course you're opting for MJWing tonight and over exaggerating per the usual.

I watched plenty of Dolphins games, k!ddo. They have a lot of young talent at that spot.

Still waiting for this insider knowledge regarding Suh and the Dolphin locker room, sweetheart. You spoke with such certainty that you knew what was going on. Enlighten us casuals.

Just seen a mock where we traded down with Buffalo for both of their 1st's. We picked Key, with Davenport still on the board?

Sea Bass made $51m in his career. That's more than any other kicker, even Vinatieri who has played 4 more years.

Obviously we were mocked to clear the off field red-flags.

He wasn't even that good. Huge leg, could make the kicks nobody else could, but even if you take the 50+ kicks out of the equation, his make percentage isn't great.

I consider from 30-49 to be the best measure of a kicker. If he can't hit shorter than that, he won't last anyway, and it's unfair to skew an overall percentage with kicks from 50+. From 30-49, Seabass hit 71.6% in his career. Adam Vinatieri hit 81% of his kicks from 30-49. Matt Bryant hit 84%. Janikowski was money from 29 and in, and he took, made, and missed more from 50+ than anybody. But the vast majority of field goals come from 30-49, and there's an expectation you're going to hit more than 7 out of 10 of them if you're considered great.
