We need to roll him out of the pocket more. Wait, isn't this a Panthers thread? Regardless, he is not a drop back pocket passer. You need to have him on the move. He seems to be so much better that way.

Who then? Do you have any viable, better alternatives or is it just a "anybody but Jameis" situation?

To be honest about it I haven't given much thought about Winston's replacement at this point. This team so so weak on defense no QB with limited experience would make much difference. Our needs are far to many for me to think much about a QB. Even if Jameis continues to stink it up it would be to our advantage to work on the other numerous weaknesses. If given enough time he just might become mediocre, allowing us more time to develop.

My guess is our guy isn't in the NFL yet and could be two years away. However, for now I see no evidence that suggests he gets much better within the next five years a or so, he just insn't showing any signs og getting it.

So it's the latter, an "anybody but Jameis" situation. Got it. Hey think about this. You're admitting that the team is weaker in a ton of other areas than at AN. Have you ever thought that maybe if those areas got better that so would his play? For instance if the Oline got better that he'd be able to have more time finding open receivers? Maybe if the defense got better the score wouldn't get out of hand quickly and we'd be able to stick to the game plan and not rely so much on him throwing 40+ times a game? Just a couple of things to think about before running to the lazy "let's ship Jameis off" and "I just don't think he'll get better" or "Our real QB will be here in 2 years I guess". That's lazy.

The Panthers have handed over full team control to newly appointed COO Tina Becker making her one of the highest ranking female executive in the NFL.

Becker is a former Panther cheerleader/"TopCat" (circa mid-90's) before getting her start full time as the TopCat coordinator in 1999.

Unfortunately Becker was NOT involved in the infamous banana joe's bathroom scandal.

Thanks for clarity in the last paragraph as that's what I was thinking while reading.

I haven't seen anything in more detail, but are all the Panther's owners selling? Or just Richardson and his 48% of the team?

Sean Combs wants to buy. Steph Curry wants in on Team Combs. Robert Kraft is a fan of Combs'. Looks like this has some traction.

He'd need another big investor. If he's serious he should give Jordan a call. Big pockets, already in Charlotte. Knowledgeable about owning a major sports franchise.

"Diddy's net worth is estimated to be $820 million by Forbes so he will require more than just Curry's help if he wants to buy the Panthers and he has little shot in being the one who calls the shots for the team. Forbes valued the Panthers at $2.3 billion in September. The NFL has altered its ownership rules in recent years, but a single incoming owner must still control at least 30% of the equity of the team to satisfy league rules and debt limits are capped at $250 million. That means one person must write a check for a minimum of $600 million if they want to be the controlling owner."

via Forbes. It does appear that only 48% of the Panthers are for sale currently.

I'll be interested in seeing if he can get market value for his share of the team since he's almost forced to sell.

What did Sterling get for the Clippers? That's the closest recent situation like this one.

Yup, it's a sellers market and despite his pressure to sell there will still be a line of buyers in place to bid on the right to be an controlling owner of an NFL franchise.

Diddy and Simon Cowell. You have to throw a random Brit in there.

I'm still in for $50.

I haven't seen this anywhere. I saw that he wanted to sign Kaepernick, but not that he was going to make him starting QB.

It's in his video message. I should clarify. He said he'd sign Kap and have him compete for the starting QB job, which is still ridiculous considering they have one of the better starting QBs in the league.

I hope this all serves to distract the team enough that the Bucs roll over them Sunday and putting a damper on their playoff prospects. Of course, it could make my getting out of there alive more difficult. It will be a long walk back to my hotel.
