I really don't like the idea of playing the Bruins in the first round...

I didn't think that had been decided yet? Hell, Boston still has a shot at missing the playoffs from what I read. Also, the Lightning could still end up drawing the Bruins instead of NY. Still a lot to be decided in these last couple games.

I'd much rather the lightning not draw the Rangers til the ECF

Agreed... What I meant was right now though. If the playoffs started today, the Lightning would play Detroit and NY would play Boston which is what I think Samurai was talking about.

^yup...so if Montreal loses and we win who wins the tiebreaker.

After yesterday, Rangers would draw the Penguins. I can't find any "what if" scenarios. Also of note, if Tampa beats Boston tomorrow night, I think it eliminates them.

The regular season tiebreaker according to ESPN:

If two or more clubs are tied in points during the regular season, the standing of the clubs is determined in the following order:

1. The fewer number of games played (i.e., superior points percentage).

2. The greater number of games won, excluding games won in the Shootout. This figure is reflected in the ROW column.

3. The greater number of points earned in games between the tied clubs. If two clubs are tied, and have not played an equal number of home games against each other, points earned in the first game played in the city that had the extra game shall not be included. If more than two clubs are tied, the higher percentage of available points earned in games among those clubs, and not including any "odd" games, shall be used to determine the standing.

4. The greater differential between goals for and against for the entire regular season.

If this holds true you would skip #1 considering they have both played the same amount of games and the Lightning would win the division as long as Montreal loses in regulation. The Lightning currently have the edge 47 -43 in the ROW column (regulation+overtime wins).

Rangers won 3 of 4 vs Penguins this season. Not sure why you feel pessimistic about their chances against them in the 1st round.

CSG -- aren't you a Red Sox fan too?

How does one became a Buc fan, a Ranger fan, a Red Sox fan and an FSU fan?

Islanders crushed the Caps in game 1. Nice! I kinda hope they can keep it up. Chicago over the Predators was a nice surprise as well.

I've got Chicago over Preds in my bracket. Only one I'm behind on so far is I have Canucks over Flames.

Next period Mrazek will just skate around at mid-ice to give Detroit free power plays every time he checks someone since that's the way the refs want to call it.

We're absolutely embarrassing Detroit on the ice, we just can't seem to get it in net. Just need to be patient. The goals will come.
