Sounds like speculation on someone's part at this point. This is what the NHL tweeted:

@nhlplayersafety: Detroit's Niklas Kronwall will have a hearing this afternoon for charging/illegal check to the head on Tampa Bay's Nikita Kucherov.

It was one of the guys on the NHLN who said he would only get a fine and no suspension

I'm not one to really pile on officials, but that was some horseshit last night. I was watching the game with a die hard Red Wings fan and even he said the Bolts were getting shafted big time. I don't usually buy into the whole conspiracy crap about big market vs. little market, but that was fishy last night. Very fishy. And Kromwall's hit was the cherry on top.

Kromwall officially suspended. Honestly I'm surprised. Not because he didn't deserve it, but because the NHL has been letting him get away with it for so long.

I like it, but Palat should have at least been investigated for his hit as well.

Unbelievable how this series has turned out. The Red Wings had Tampa dead to rights and somehow we have a Game 7. Stamkos has got to get going somehow. I can't criticize his performance too harshly due to the fact that games 3, 4 and 5 were a Babcock trap fest that saw our whole offense shut down except for Johnson. Plus Stamkos played fine in the first 2 games, he just didn't have a goal. But a good game tonight is what he's gonna get paid the big dollars for.

I like our chances of coming out on top. We just have to bring our best and win.

I believe he's referring to this one.

The difference I see here is Palat's arm made contact with the body, lessening the hit to the head. Palat also doesn't leave his skates. Should it have been investigated? Sure. Although for all we know it was and they decided it wasn't worthy of punishment. DPS doesn't announce every hit investigation so we can't really say they didn't look at it.

Edit: Also, it appears Glendening saw the hit coming and stopped. It probably would have been shoulder to shoulder if he hadn't stopped, while Kucherov made no move prior to the hit leaving the onus on Kronwall to avoid the head.

Thanks. Looks pretty bad to me. Granted, he didn't leave the ground and he didn't extend his forearm/shoulder, but slamming someone's head into the glass seems pretty blatant to me.

The Lightning shouldn't be here, but I'll take it. We desperately need #91 to show up tonight and we need TJ to keep doing what he's been doing and we need Bishop to play his best game of the series. If those 3 things happen, we will win. Heck, if two of those three things happen, we'll win. GO BOLTS!!!!!!!

Why? I certainly don't think Detroit is the better team between them.

Followed by a Lightning/Wild Finals that Tampa wins, because screw this state. I don't even watch much hockey, but I was at BWW when they played during the regular season and there was much butt-hurt after the Wild lost. Sweet, sweet music...

Whew! That was fun. Detroit showed their experience in this series. They effectively shut down Stamkos. Fortunately, others (read: Tyler Johnson) stepped up to fill that void. Bishop came up big last night to record his first playoff shutout. On to Montreal!

Berry Melrose was adamant Detroit is the better team and they handed the Lightning the series. Man he's so salty and bitter.

That might be slightly true about Detroit probably should've won the series, but I think TB was the better team. The Red Wings probably should've won the series, but the Lightning fought back in game 4 from a late 2-0 deficit then won a win-or-go-home game 6 on the road and Bishop shut down Detroit with a few lucky misses from the Red Wings.

Bet you didn't say that after the first two games when the Lightning kicked the **** out of them. Even though they lost game one, they flat out dominated and outshot them 46-14. It all evened out in the end, and the Lightning had the better third period when it mattered and won the series. Kudos to Detroit for changing their gameplan. They realized after game 2 they couldn't play with the Lightning the way they were playing them and had to change to a more physical style. That's why Babcock's one of the best around.

As for tonight's game, that was a well-deserved win. The game should have never made it to a 2nd OT. Bad call taking away that goal in the first OT, but the Lightning got justice in the end.

That was a good ole-fashioned ass whoopin. 7-0 now against the Habs this season. In case you're looking ahead, they're also 3-0 vs. NY.
