This is not a good way to go into the offseason. I'm hoping we can finish strong the last two weeks, but too many of our so-called "best players" are anything but right now. Oh, and bullpen is complete ****. Shoulda kept Jepsen and dump Boxberger. I guess this is what I get for going to Vegas and thinking the Over on 81 was a bargain bet. Thought I had it in the bag halfway through the season.

Also, doesn't help the sting that our old manager is taking a laughing stock of a franchise and turned them into maybe the best team in baseball (hmmm....that sounds familiar.)

I'll agree with you with saying the Cubs have been a bad franchise for the past few years, but this years Cubs aren't like years before. They have serious talent. Talent that was already there before Maddon got to Chicago. I believe the Cubs could have been successful with a different coach. Probably not as successful, but still in the playoff hunt.

I can't think of the time when Maddon had all that talent one in team while he was in Tampa.

The Cubs are very similar to the 2008 Rays. A bunch of young guys all arriving at the same time with one savvy, young vet. Except these Cubs prospects are just better (and more numerous).

Rays finish 80-82 under first year manager Cash...which is much better then most everyone thought at the beginning of the year. Injuries really hurt us this year. We might be able to contend for a WC next year assuming our starting rotation doesn't end up on the DL, or we don't roster dump everyone during the offseason.

Just too many losing streaks and too much inconsistency. The Rays had a legitimate chance of making the playoffs despite the amount of injuries we sustained. I'm not disappointed though. 80 wins is better than I expected.

Things are going to be transient from year to year for a while now.

Being wrong by 18 games is a lot. You predicted 62-100. They went 80-82.

Your 100 loss prediction was only off by 16 for the Sawx. So at least you've got that going for you.

18 game is not only a lot, it's HUGE. Talk about being way off. That prediction wasn't even close.

Especially when you consider first and last place in the AL East were separated by 15 games.

No one has brought this up? They'd have to pay a huge fee, but from what I understand, they are able to leave the Trop.

Nano, the Rays turned the offer down. We're still gonna be stuck in slow motion on this for the time being.
