Reading the inevitable article comparing LD to Deuve and their stats.

One that jumped out was that LD was 15-15 from the spot with the national team. That's amazing. Think of how many good players freeze on PKs

After some time to digest the recent games and put things in perspective

Some thought

1. This is the worst team we have had since 1990...not necessarily the worst players (as Pulisuc, Johnson, Dempsey, etc are skilled), but by far the worst team

2. The tinkering with the lineup is hurting us. When you think back to our recent "best period"...the buildup to 2010, we had a very stable core that played together well. I realize JK and Arena are experimenting to find the best players, but at some point you simply have to pull the trigger and go with a stable lineup

3. The veterans are letting us down greatly. Altidore is still a waste -- lazy and pathetic. Bradley is a shell of what he was five years ago. Cameron is off his game. None of our GKs are playing great

4. While we have always lacked skill at the international level we always made up for it with physicality and grit. Now we are getting pushed around physically in almost every game. Where is the guy like Jones, Bocanegra, heck even Beckerman, that protects our skill guys like Pulisic? We get outmuscled and outhustled now in nearly every game

We will be lucky to sneak back into 3rd when all is said and done

Fairly big announcement today from FIFA

the world cup seedings are all going to be based on the world rankings...not just Pot A anymore.

So Basically, A is the host plus teams 1 - 7
B is 8 - 15
C is 16 - 23
D is 24 - 31

while I understand why they did this in terms of equity...I kind of liked the old system that was done by confederations to try to limit the amount of group games against teams from your area of the world

At least we don't have to hear England bitch about not being in Pot A anymore.

USA doesn't make the WC....after losing to the Trinidad & Tobago B team. Tear everything down

Re: **Official Soccer Thread**

I'll still watch the World Cup. I never watched the WC just to watch the USMNT, but rather see the other talented players and teams. But the WC is the only soccer I ever watch. Soccer is similar to swimming and track-n-field for me in that way.

Let's just hope he doesn't run for re-election again. I'm tired of him. He has always put the MLS and $$$ above the USMNT development.

As for Arena's replacement -- I kind of hope we just hire an interim guy until after next year's WC. I think there would be slim pickings right now.
