Unai Emery in as the new Arsenal manager.

As the resident Gunner I like the move. He was awesome with Sevilla and Valencia and did a pretty good job with PSG. People overplay the Champions League meltdown against Barca, a team that went undefeated in their league this season. The guy is coming off of a domestic treble at PSG, so I'll take it.

It appears that Cincinnati is going to be the next MLS franchise. To me that city actually always made more sense than Columbus because it is such a soccer friendly town. Their USL teams draws nearly 20,000 fans.

Edwards needs an investor and they need to play better. Firing their head coach was a step in the right direction.

My one of my best friends is their kit man.

Also, this CL final is pretty crazy. Bale's goal was beautiful.

That was an awesome goal.

Either Messi or Ronaldo has won 9 of the last 13 champions league titles

Good first half. I love the attacking nature of the young guys. Sargent and Weah playing good. Zimmerman reminds me of Jay Demerrit.

Our biggest issue is linking the back four to the midfield. But once we get the ball out of the back third they push strong

Ernie Stewart is going to be named GM

I really like that choice. Great technical player who played in Europe but had that gritty American blue collar spirit too

Loved watching him play

Roster for upcoming friendlies -- lots of changes. Lots of guys who played extensively in Europe were dropped, a few notables added: Wood, Yedlin

Let's see if we keep that attacking philosophy against some better teams!

Goalkeepers: Bill Hamid (Midtjylland), Zack Steffen (Columbus Crew SC), William Yarbrough (Club Leon)

Defenders: Cameron Carter-Vickers (Tottenham), Eric Lichaj (Nottingham Forest), Matt Miazga (Chelsea), Shaq Moore (Levante), Erik Palmer-Brown (Manchester City), Tim Parker (New York Red Bulls), Antonee Robinson (Bolton Wanderers), Jorge Villafana (Santos Laguna), DeAndre Yedlin (Newcastle United)

Midfielders: Tyler Adams (New York Red Bulls), Joe Corona (Club America), Luca de la Torre (Fulham), Julian Green (Stuttgart), Weston McKennie (Schalke), Keaton Parks (Benfica), Rubio Rubin (Club Tijuana), Kenny Saief (Anderlecht), Wil Trapp (Columbus Crew SC), Tim Weah (Paris Saint-Germain)

Forwards: Andrija Novakovich (Telstar), Josh Sargent (Werder Bremen), Bobby Wood (Hamburg)

It’s official, Ernie Stewart named as GM

Next up — hiring the coach

The only American coach I’d consider is Berhalter. I like Vermes too but he seems to me a club coach, not national team

I’m sure some guys will be free after this cycle too .... I don’t see us rushing into quick decision here

I hear there's a very noble, prestiguous Frenchman available.

Hope Solo is trashing USSF and saying don't award N.A. the cup.

She has some good points, but it also reeks of spite for no one wanting her to be president.

It was an incredibly cheap goal...but a goal nonetheless. We are getting dominated.

If we end up holding France goalless that's still impressive. Even if we did just murder Giroud.

yes, Our defense and keeper are playing good. We basically played a bunker game circa 2010. It's working OK but not generating anything.

I'm still looking at this with the mindset that we lost to Trinidad last November and we're playing a bunch of young guys. If we win this it will be a massive victory. If it's a 1-1 draw it's still big. As far as I'm concerned we're starting from scratch.

I was in and out of the pool the second half

It was an ok game all things considered. We were outclassed away from home but played fairly tough., France had most of their good players too.

I just hope we commit to the young guys over the next two years, particularly up front and on the back end. Emphasize developing a style versus winning.

Steffan had a really, really good game. He's the reason it was a draw at the end. His double save, the second on Dembele, at the end was beautiful.
