I doubt it. Brazil is still a very disjointed team.

Saw the United States was awarded the 2026 World Cup. USA gets 60 games, Canada and Mexico get 10 each.

Does USA auto qualify as host? We may need that loophole.

In the past shared hosts get spots but this will be the first time 3 nations share

So I'll be 46 in 2026, I'm going to have to make it point to make it out to a WC match. I'm not a big fan of the sport, but I love the fandom and would love to experience it.

I was in Greece for the recent Champions league final between Liverpool and RM and it was bonkers. It reminded me of Super Bowl Sunday walking by all the bars, shops, and restaurants as literally every TV and radio was tuned into it with everyone's eyes glued to the screen.

Yeah, I would think a WC game would be top 5 for most sports fans' bucket list.

If three countries get automatic spots, there will be some pissed off North American countries. Will be interesting to see if they give an extra spot to North America.

Why would any of them have a right to be pissed off?

I’m guessing with the expansion of the tournament to 48, CONCACAF gets 5 places. As such 2 more would still be open (maybe an additional 1/2 spot too).

Yes I think something like 2/3 of group stage games are in the US and all the knock-out rounds are.

That more or less matches up with what I've heard. Canada in the World Cup. Oh what a time to be alive.

In 2026, There will be 16 groups of 3 and the top 2 make it to the 32 team knockout stage. Which actually sounds more interesting than now.

US extended national team coach Dave Sarachan to the end of the year

Apparently they made it clear to him that they can hire a coach anytime before that as well

I don’t like the expansion. I don’t care so much about the number of teams in the field but rather I don’t like the 3-team groups. Kinda silly, IMO. I don’t see what’s wrong with the system they have now with the 4-team groups. Has a lot of drama to it.
Rather see them go 64 teams and 16 4-team groups. Get ready for some 0-0 ties with this new system.

Well -- France vs. Croatia

This is France's third final (w - 1998, l - 2006), it will be Croatia's first (no appearances as a part of Yugoslavia either).

France is the 4/9 favorite...Croatia a 7/4 underdog

I'm picking France

If he drags Juve to a CL and league title then he may honestly be the GOAT. He'll have won La Liga, the Premier League, Serie A, and a CL title with Man U, Los Blancos, and Juventus. And that would be his 6th CL title as well.

That's some next level ****.

I get what you're saying, and agree it'll help his case... but I also feel like "eh, it feels like a cheap move." Its more similar to KD to Golden State/LeBron to Mia than LeBron carrying Cleveland. Juventes is already a world class club; they just won the Serie A and barely lost out in the CL quarters to Real.

True enough but they're going to have to shed some players due to Ronaldo's wages. Juve isn't a super rich club just very well managed.

They also lost Buffon which will hurt. I think their first choice keeper is Szczesny now. And don't get me wrong, I love me some Wojciech Szczesny but he's got some real flaws as a keeper for a top level team.
