LMFAO! It's utterly amazing how they're gonna potentially get to rebuild overnight as if they were actually doing something better and smarter just because they're the Lakers. Holy **** man I need to just give up the NBA period. There is literally no hope for the Grizzlies, Bucks, Wolves, Magic and Kings fans of the world. All hail your eternal role as nothing more than prey to the mighty giant.

This isn't a case of a draft day trade for Bryant. This isn't a trade to the Jazz that wins a 1st overall for Magic. This isn't a trade for Abdul-Jabbar or Shaq coming as a UFA. The Lakers are in currently their lowest period in their entire existence and so what, clear cap, sign stars make super team AND Leonard?

Historic success earns the privilege but if it was this easy someone else would do it. There is hardly any competitive balance in the NBA to begin with and to know a team is just going to leap frog over everyone else when teams like the Warriors built what they had on their own and others could only ever hope to be little better than someone's playoff bitch it's a feeling that leaves only a sense of being disenfranchised.

I'm not a Laker hater. This to me feels like a sports version of something like a trust fund rich kid getting daddy to give him whatever he wants. But I digress... I just thought for once in their history the Lakers would have to build instead of relying on reputation

It sounds like you are being a Laker hater...an irrational one at that. What do you want to happen, the league to ban FA from going there?

To get Leonard we would likely need to give up Kuzma, Ball or Ingram, and multiple picks.

This isn't blind hate, I'm a fan of parity and knowing that anyone can be a champion if you dream it build it and do it. I have zero investment in any college or March Madness. All that was left for me for the duration of my fandom (since about 2005ish) was to patiently wait for Kobe to retire. After he did I thought I was getting a level playing field. The Lakers have BEEN the field since pretty much day one. I don't resent success, I resent that if you believe the hype right now, all it takes it "cuz Lakers" and it can so easily overshadow all the hard work it took for a team like Golden State to finally get its way to the top. And by God year after year went by that I prayed they'd make the next step. I couldn't be happier for their success. As for the trade I don't speak for Magic but I doubt he's gonna pick up the phone and be talking about how much SAS is busting his balls in the exchange for Leonard. **** dude he could lose 2 of the 3 players and multiple picks I'm sure the only tears he has will be tears of joy to see arguably the best young talent in the game today don the yellow and purple team up with Paul George in his prime.

Again, this basically comes down to the fact that player favoritism will outweigh the hard work of anything else. We're Bucs fans. We weren't the favorites of anything and had arguably the biggest hill to climb of any team in NFL history to win its championship. To see this just doesn't sit well. I'd be saying the same damn thing if it was the Bulls

NBA draft tonight...my Knicks pick at #9..

Fingers crossed and praying to the basketball gods we select Trae Young out of Oklahoma....I think he "could" be a franchise changing pick like Curry was for Golden State...

Instead we'll probably take an often injured swing or some European **** noone knows anything about..

Young is a huge risk. He isn't as big or nearly as efficient as Curry was in college. He could just be an inefficient chucker, or could be great.

I don't disagree, but he's no more of a risk than the other prospects..

It's unknown if that guy from Europe will even play in the NBA let alone be good... everyone and their mother is mocking Michael Porter Jr to Cleveland and that kid's back is so bad he couldn't even make some of his private workouts...

Young has shown he can drop 40... nobody else has that tape...I'll take Young...

I like 10 or 11 players over Young. I really like Kevin Knox or Jaren Jackson outside of the big guys. I think both Ayton and Bamba will be be superstars. A lot of people think Doncic is one of the safest players in years. He's been playing pro ball since he was 16, but I've never watched him, so I don't have an opinion.

That's the thing though...NY picks at 9...

So at that selection spot he's damn near in your wheel house...

He has the highest ceiling in the draft. From just a few weeks of working with Drew Hanlen (who changed Tatums shot and is Embiid's personal coach). He's made huge gains in his three point shot, especially for being 7'1.

If Knox falls to the Knicks, I think he'll be a stud 20/10 guy. I really like him.

edit: Porter Jr. is the biggest risk. It'd be a Knick thing to do.

Knicks select Knox. I know people were chanting for Porter, but he's played 3 games in 2 years and he's currently hurt again. He may never play again.

Knox is a player Danny Ainge raved about, too.

A friend of mine was at his draft party and is part of Bamba's inner circle. He and his agent were very, very unhappy about going to Orlando.

This is why I stopped following the NBA. It seems silly to have a league where it's nearly impossible for the majority of teams to compete. If they'd get rid of the individual cap for players contracts, that would make a big difference.

I’m excited about that as well. Just when I began losing interest in the Magic, they go and pull this off! I’m going to enjoy watching this...until he becomes a FA and joins the Lakers...

I find that very easy to believe. The Magic have proven themselves to be one of the most inept organizations in professional sports.
