Yeah it’s like arguing Jordan or Lebron ... both are awesome.

I like CR7 better but can completely see the case for Messi

I would have used a different example, but I get your point. Jordan has a built up legacy and history on his side which makes that conversation impossible with some people.

Both Messi and CR7 are from the same generation and are equally as decorated, both have won many championships on their respective teams. Neither have won a World Cup, but both have been phenomenal in World Cup games. Messi won the Golden Ball in the last Cup. Messi also has a gold medal.

However, at the senior international level Messi has won nothing but that Olympic gold, whereas CR7 has won the Euro with Portugal.

He helped his team to the finals and was debatably the best player in the entire tourney 4 years ago. It's a team sport though. I don't hold either not winning a World Cup against them.

Calm down...Matches are not over...You cannot compare your knowledge of football to mine.....American football is not my specialitay.

I am shocked by Russia performance, but, it's not so shocking given the team they have faced. Egypt is just is just 10 players + Salah.

Burger King says it's sorry for offering a lifetime supply of Whoppers to Russian women who get pregnant from World Cup players.

Critics assailed the offer, announced on Russian social media, as sexist and demeaning.

The announcement was removed Tuesday from Burger King's social media accounts but is still circulating among Russian social network users. It promised a reward to women who get "the best football genes" and "ensure the success of the Russian team for generations to come."

I'm a bit surprised but certainly not shocked.

For them advancing might very well come down to goal differential.

No. Their team isn't very good.

Messi has looked completely disinterested for most of the game.

They are certainly a whole lot more up and down than most traditional powerhouses. Many times they just don't seem all that inspired to play.

Worst group stage loss since 1958 when Argentina lost to a country that doesn't exist anymore.
