lmao they're not even ****ing trying anymore

Adames, Franco, Arroyo, Palacios and Duffy being able to platoon as SS as well... I don't know man that might not be enough. Better trade Chris Archer for yet another shortstop just to be safe!

He should be. Our owner and GM are selling off all our good players because they're too ****ing cheap to pay anyone. He knows we aren't going to be competitive this year. Probably wishes he didn't sign that extension here

They had trouble filling Tropicana Field even when the Rays were serious playoff contenders. I imagine attendance this season will hit all-time lows as they struggle to win 65 games this season. Real good way to turn off your fan base.

Might as well trade Archer & just go full tank mode instead of 99% tank mode.

Pretty much this. Trade KK too as long as its for another shortstop because **** our need at 2nd, 1st and catcher.

Casual baseball fan here. But I usually make it out to a few games a year, and put the games on TV most days for background filler.

But what a sad time to be a fan of this team. Long gone are the days of young exciting players competing for playoffs annually. We traded all those players for prospects, and any of them worth a damn have been traded again. Yeah, we probably weren’t going to make the playoffs this year, but letting go of a fan favorite/face of the franchise along with two of your best players makes absolutely no sense. Why would anyone pay money to go see these guys this year? The owner clearly doesn’t give a damn.

Hope he sells this team so we can get an owner with a vision other than the lowest payroll in baseball. What a joke

They still have Archer...we CAN achieve that last .5%!

The NY Jets should take lessons. The Devil Rays KNOW how to tank.

This franchise is the Culverhouse Buccaneers. The laughingstock of MLB.

I just can't figure out how on earth an NHL team outdraws a MLB team? What a head-scratcher...

Rays get fleeced. It's just a prospect - carbonated water that may someday be made into a soda if anyone has any syrup.

No, it's just a cheap prospective soda at this point. It will, however, eventually get a nice contract from the Yankees when we cut it as soon as it becomes a quality thirst-quenching beverage that warrants money.

But how do we convince everyone it's a good soda? Talk about how cold it is?

But seriously though at least Nick Solak isn't a TERRIBLE prospect and on the bright side at least all these AAA prospects who are MLB ready are gonna get their chance now.

I've been calling for a rebuild for years so I'm not gonna get mad that it's finally happening. I just wish we could get better players out of these deals we are making. That's why I keep making shortstop jokes.

The only thing that's gonna make me happy is that we follow through with the plan for a couple of years and pick off top talent like a David Price and Evan Longoria on draft day.

Yeah, this has the feeling of an attempt at a long-term rebuild that will mature right around new stadium time. I just don't like our returns so far. We are taking yard sale prices for guys who at least belong in a store.

I don't see how Souza and Odorizzi couldn't have been in the rebuild plans.

Dude you're not kidding. Would it kill us to get a halfway decent outfield prospect right now or another option at 3rd base and catcher to at least shore up organizational depth in case the guys we have going now don't work out?

But whatever, I'm not gonna complain if we wind up picking at the top for a few years and getting the guys we need to make the dream work

The Jets had the most Jets tank possible. They got the Tank Captain (I forget who coined the phrase, but I saw it in TD) and he had a career year. They would have been better off going for it all, which surely would have ended up with a 2 win season.

The Trop will need extra employees to work the concession on Tebow bobblehead night, so it's good for the economy. They're looking out for us local fans, you just aren't seeing the big picture.
