Cool thing about MLB. Seems like different teams make the World Series every single year.

I'm rooting for the Astros. Carlos Beltran needs a ring.

Astros - the same for different reasons

I have worked in Houston for over 10 years for several different clients. It's a great city, and after what they endured from Harvey, it would be nice to see a ring. I like Baltran, and had the opportunity to see a game this year.

Fell asleep last night when it was 3-1. Missed an exciting finish.

I went to bed after the 10th. Not staying up past midnight to watch two teams I don't root for.

Most HR hit from the 9th inning on. Ever. Not just World Series. In MLB history.

Five.

The Dodgers didn't get their first non-HR hit until the 10th inning.

(and MLB says the balls aren't juiced)

Putting steroids/PEDs inside of baseballs doesn't make them travel further. :P

I heard a lot of Dan Patrick yesterday, and they were driving the "ball" dressing as slick, and hard to handle. It will be interesting. Pitchers have a right to reject the ball, and are not. Not sure that says anything.

Verlander goes tonight, and that should be a challenge. Rumor is he will throw until his arm comes off, since they don't want to go to the bullpen.

Should be fun !

But the problem is it's every ball. The Astros blindfolded one of their guys, gave him a World Series ball and an unused regular season ball, and he picked out the WS ball immediately. Hell, the one picture I saw you could tell the difference.

At this point there is near absolute evidence the regular season balls are significantly different than they have been in the past. These are far worse for pitchers. If that's what MLB wants, own it. Just come out and say "we changed the balls," and everyone will move on.

It's odd how they deny it, but the numbers and almost all the players say otherwise. It's making it more of an issue than it should be.

They should have Goodell intervene. Hell, have Goodell and Manfred switch roles.

Throw enough spaghetti against the wall some is bound to stick. SI went on to backtrack this proclamation and the Astros were not SI's pick to win the WS prior to this season. So kudos for this article back in 2014, but they should've committed to it.

Absolutely! It was a great article without a doubt.

But I'm seeing alot of praise for the prediction when in reality SI backtracked, so I just wish they would have committed to it is all.

The Astros (like the Cubs) built a great roster through the farm system so their eventual success wasn't hard to see coming once you started seeing all the young assets they were collecting (Correa, Springer, Altuve, etc) just like the Cubbies w/ (Bryant, Russell, Baez, Rizzo, etc). That's not to say predicting either to win the WS was an after thought since it still takes expensive FA (usually atleast a big time pitcher like Lester/Verlander) to get teams over the top, but you could see with the talent teams were collecting that the line-ups were going to be really good for long time and have those teams competitive.

I didn't post that cover as praise. I was more like, "Check this out. Is that kinda cool or what?"
