They should let him sit ... no need to rush it

They should do whatever he's ready to do. If that's play, then play. If that's sit, then sit. I'm in no position to declare him either way.

Exactly.

If he's healthy, he plays.

What is it with you people and the "Sit him" bullshit?

What is with you People and wanting to play him 2 1/2 weeks into a 3 -6 week injury ? Why ? We have a 3 game winning streak . What if he makes it worse it or injures it again come back to soon .. Just seems needless at this post

What about "Lower body injury" makes you jump to thinking he'll re-injure it? He's been cleared and returned to skating so without more information I'm not sure how you can be so sure that this is being rushed.

It was obviously his knee , so it seems needless to rush him back .. he is a game time decision tho

Do you seriously think that the training staff would clear Hedman to play, if he weren't healthy? You make it sound like you're coming up with some ****ing gem of knowledge..You think they don't realize how important he is to this franchise and they're just gonna say, "**** it! Throw his ass out there"?

How about you give them the benefit if the doubt that they're actually good at their jobs and if Hedman play's it's because he's recovered from his injury...

Swashy wrote:The Karlsson chatter is nice but it's not realistic or feasible to acquire him unless it can be done for something like Mathieu Joseph (AHL prospect) Slater Koekkoek, 1st round pick, 2nd round pick. Otherwise if we go ahead and trade someone like Johnson our scoring depth will take a hit. The most we could possibly give up is Sergachev and even then that means we'll have to cap dump anyway to keep Karlsson. Otherwise you just traded a player you can have for a dozen years with great play for a guy that'll be great for about 5 or 6 years. It's best we just wait until he's a UFA and make our pitch to Karlsson then.

You're forgetting something.

ANY acquisition involving Karlsson would necessitate dumping a significant salary. I used Coburn because he's the one salary that isn't tied to a NTC. If they're dumb enough to take Killorn, fine but SOME salary has to go in the deal or he doesn't fit under the cap NOW. I'm not even talking 2 years from now when his deal expires.

And Sergachev isn't in play. That would make less than no sense.

But I do tend to agree. We probably have a better chance of acquiring him if we just wait it out.

This is the team with the best record in the league. That doesn't mean everything but it means something. Like that they're pretty good with what they roll out there right now.

We cant afford Karlsson.

We would have to give up too much in my opinion.

IMO...we wouldn't have to. We have SEVERAL offensive assets. Many who will be NHL ready in the next 2-3 years. IF we give up ONE (Howden), Coburn (!) Koekkoek and a couple of high draft picks...why not?

I guess...what I'm asking...is to justify your opinion. It's easy to have one. How do you justify it?

We really don't have a space for Koekkoek and/or Sustr...they're different types of defensemen anyway...regardless...HOW do you figure we'd have to "give up too much"? It's not like Howden is our ONLY offensive prospect that impresses. We HAVE the assets. Why not use them?

Besides the last 10 minutes of the 1st...we were THUROUGHLY outplayed tonight.

Domingue is CLEARLY the better #2. He played well...again.

I'm a little pissed off. Stamkos and Uncle Kuch were COMPLETELY outplayed and dominated tonight. Kuch is in a legit slump and hasn't scored in a while. They're too good for this type of non-sense.

Peca, Gourde, Bournival, Killorn. These guys were giving EVERYTHING. The rest...not so much. Poor effort. I expect a rebound on Thursday.

BTW...Hedman didn't play many minutes...but he AND Sergachev looked 100% tonight. At this point, I'm wondering if his "lower body injury" was nothing more than a "contusion". A deep bruise.

We're healthy again. Let's roll...

Interesting note:

The Lightning have acquired a goalie from Edmonton. And AHL move.

The article DID clarify something for me, however.

(From Raw Charge)

"Although Domingue’s recall status has been clarified since (he’s under emergency recall, which means that his waiver threshold is 10 games played, not 30 days on roster)..."

I'm still unclear as to what exactly qualifies a player to have to submit to waivers, this gives us some idea as to a "guideline" for Domingue, anyway. I KNOW Budaj will have to clear waivers if/when he's sent down.

This may be the end of the road for Budaj in Tampa...I think we can all agree that Domingue has looked FAR stronger in net than Budaj.

Domingue is a strong presence in net for us, no doubt. But his eagerness to play the puck in certain situations irks the hell out of me.

Tough sledding for the guy last night.

Domingue played one helluva game last night...and he has clearly outplayed Budaj, when called upon.

The disturbing trend is that we're giving up a LOT of shots and SoG. We were at 40-something last night. We rang 3 or 4 shots off the post but you have to reasonably expect to give up 2/3/4 goals...or more, when you face 40+ shots in a given game.

Right now, I'm chalking it up to the "dog days" of a hockey season. It's comparable to July/August for a baseball team.

When we start to roll into March, we'll see how this team plays.

I'm expecting to see a MUCH better effort against a really good Calgary team, tomorrow night.

The first time we played Calgary, toughest night of the season. We got our asses whipped & Hedman got hurt.

It would be nice to take it to them and come away with a 4-0 type of win tonight.

Wow, what a game. Score 5 straight to turn a 4-2 deficit into a 7-4 win. Slow starting on defense but fast finishing on offense. Killorn with a big night, 2 goals & 2 assists. And Conacher with 2 unbelievable goals. This was a great win.

Calgary is a tough team, real physical with a tough forecheck but we figured em out by the 3rd. Forced Calgary to pull Smith. It wasn't looking good there for a while after Calgary scored 3 straight to take a 4-2 lead but man, what a response by the Bolts.

Won 4 of last 5...all on the road. Most road wins in the league. STILL most points in the league. Sounds pretty sucky to me.

IDK WTF happened tonight. The game was on at my bar but it was on the tv behind me so other than occasional glances at the tv, I didn't see much. The funny thing is, the last time I saw the score it was just before the end of the 2nd. 4-2 Calgary. The next time I heard the final was on the way home from work. I almost wrecked. I thought for sure it was gonna be one of those nights.

Another 46 SoG given up by the Bolts. This can't continue and us be consistently successful.

On the bright side...Killorn is a notoriously streaky scorer. Maybe he's about to go on one of his binges...

Kuch shut out again. Been what...10 games or so? Glad it's happening now and not later. He's got to be going insane.
