Great game. We got outplayed for most of that game, but played well in the 3rd and got the go ahead goal.

Getting out of the last 8 minutes of the 1st and then through that 2nd period was crucial. We got dominated in that part of the game and only gave up 1 goal in that span.

Special teams and goaltending clearly won this game.

Vasy stole one for us!! Caps played good enough to win, just couldn't beat Vasy.

Wow. Vasy for MVP tonight. This team didn’t play good enough to win. Vasy was the difference.

Washington clearly outplayed the Bolts tonight...and it really wasn't close. Especially 5v5. This game could've EASILY been a WAS blowout win.

The Lightning had better figure something out. And fast.

Obviously, the score is what matters....but to say that we are "the better team" is being really disengenuous.

WAS is not going to lose too many games where they outplay a team that badly.

The thing that I've noticed over the last couple of games:

Stamkos looks 100% again. He's playing fast. I'm really looking forward to hearing what his injury was. I still think it was a hammy. We (obviously) won't know until the end of the season but he looks good.

You guys need to thank Vasky for 36 saves!

I know he didn’t play great in first two games but..

He denied Ovechkin‘s goal. 3 Times!

The best teams are well rounded. You can’t doninate every aspect of the game every night. Last game our power play and 5V5 scoring was on fire. This game our goaltending was superior.

I’ve said it, I think you’ve said it here, there isn’t anyone that’s going to take us in a series if we are playing to our potential. Last night we did enough to score and Vasy was clutch. Sometimes that’s how it’s gotta go.

I hope we bring some intensity back home tomorrow. Jumping out to an early lead and never giving it up would go a long way to our guys confidence and breaking Washington’s.

We had a great time. One observation...our fans don’t travel well. I was expecting to see a lot of blue in the upper sections on the side we shot twice. Nope. The blue was very sparse throughout the arena.

We went to a Caps bar located right next to the arena before and after the game. Ran into a few Lightning fans, but still less than I expected.

Last time I went to a Lightning game there, the Caps won and they packed that same bar. This time, while it was still busy, many Cap fans went home to drown their sorrows instead of coming out to the bar.

The other thing I noticed, their fans were a lot more rude. Making smartassed remarks, passive-aggressive comments, and “accidental” bumping when there was no need for it.

The game itself was fun even though the Caps were thoroughly outplaying us. Watching Vasy deny chance after chance while the crowd moaned and groaned was great. It seems we’re not hitting these guys like we were vs Boston. That aggressiveness seems to be sorely lacking. I’m not sure if that’s by design or not, but I’d like them to get back to that aggressive forechecking and get the Caps off their game.

I hope the boys come out firing on all cylinders tomorrow night and grab the lead for the first time this series.

The dude with the annoying cow bell in front of us. I wanted to grab it and throw it as far as I could.

Leading 3-2 with just 4-1/2 very tense minutes to go. It was a great feeling.

Yeah. I get it.

But wtf game were you watching? The Caps DOMINATED this game. Sure...sometimes the goalie stands on his head. Sure...sometimes things happen. The fact is, the Bolts have been CLEARLY outplayed in 3 of 4 games this series. I'd even argue that game 3 was pretty even for the vast majority of it. Either they are not playing well, they're being out-coached or they're being "out-talented". Whatever the reason, they are BEYOND fortunate to only be EVEN in this series. And they are ONLY EVEN.

I would not be shocked if WAS lays an ass-whipping on us tomorrow night, if something doesn't change.

Seriously...the ONE CLEAR advantage the Bolts have over the Caps, is between the ears. So many players with a history of success in the playoffs. The Bolts EXPECT to win. WAS doesn't have that. And it shows.

But as far as talent and how they're actually PLAYING? WAS is clearly the equal of Tampa.

I called Tampa in 6. And it may come to pass. But this is NOT the way I envisioned it. At ALL. IF the game play keeps up like this...it could EASILY be WAS in 6.

Getting your ass kicked and not putting a SoG for over a period, is no recepie for success.

I haven’t done my part this series. I haven’t made my chili before opening face off. So, today, I will attempt to restore good juju, and am making my chili before the game.
