I don't feel that we've dropped off TOO much, defensively. And KK wasn't lighting it up at the plate this year.

60 day DL. Busted up his hip sliding INTO first a while back. And somewhere, Slim is cringing at the thought...

I think he's due back in mid-August, if all goes well.

KK...not Slim.

The thing I like about this team...and what makes it different from years past, is the depth. Remember last year....when KK went down for a month, we tanked. And Longoria was the only guy hitting. Dickerson, Morrison and Souza sucked out loud last year.

We can lose a KK, guys can go cold...and we have the depth (position players) to make sure that doesn't kill us.

Dickerson and Morrison are cooling off...and Longo and Souza are heating up.

If we keep taking 2 out of 3 in series'...we're in the playoffs.

At this point, we just don't have the bullpen to make that happen...and God forbid, we lose Archer, Cobb or Odorizzi for a month.

Still waiting for a Honeywell call up.

Wish I knew what Snell's problem is. Dude has killer stuff...too good to be struggling like this. I guess it's a head-game at this point. Walks waaaay too many players.

That's crazy. I don't know how I missed that since I manage to catch 2 or 3 Rays games a week.

KK is a maniac, but he's my favorite guy on the roster. Can run like the wind and stretch a single to a double and a double to a triple. He's not Carl Crawford fast, but he's one helluva base runner.

At times he felt like he was the energy of this team. He'd make a great defensive play and you could tell the momentum shifted.Kind of took over the fan fave role from Longo.

This year he wasn't that good though, his fielding was weak(6 errors in 61 games which is a season high), and at times his bat couldn't keep up.

This year he definitely hasn't been what he was the last two years. I think he expected his bat to be hotter, it wasn't and he struggled. I think that effected his play defensively. I think he's kinda in his head this season. Hopefully he can come back and be that shut down CF again. Some pop would be nice too.

LOL!

That's good stuff, MB.

The first inning scares the **** out of you, then Cobb shuts them down the rest of the game.

Dude is a beast.

LOL!

Sweep.

This team is what it is.

There is good news:

IF they manage to make the wild card...they can win one game...then who knows?

So frustrating to watch every team in the league have the money to get who they want...and we have to make do with the scraps.

Is it football season yet?

Pretty sure crapping away every single game in this series and being swept by the crap ass Rangers is going to send our Rays in a downward spiral they won't recover from. Four-game losing streak, facing a HOT Baltimore offense now. Wouldn't surprise me if we lose a couple more before we can even get one win. I didn't expect much from the Rays entering the season, and they surprised the heck out of me the first half. But you can't be a good team with a bullpen THAT bad, not to mention how hit-or-miss the offense is.

Took the series.

Up in ALL 3 ranger's games.

A couple of things on KK:

Heard on the radio broadcast the other night...he's due back "beginning of August". Whatever that means.

Also...I don't think it was you but somebody was mention his batting...and how they expected more.

KK has NEVER been a great hitter. NOBODY expects him to light it up with his bat.

And the 6 errors are a fluke. He went through a 3 or 4 game stretch where he made 3 errors by having ground balls go through his glove and had a fly ball pop out of his glove...like he had the yips in golf. It was really strange. The local radio hacks were speculating that he put too much pressure on himself because of his new contract.

He's a Gold Glove CF with an average bat and a LOT of hustle. That's it.

Matt Andriese is due back in August too. Can't imagine Snell keeping his rotation spot once he comes back, unless Odorizzi's back injury keeps him out longer then his projected 2 starts.

According to Cash...Snell is staying.

Frankly...he pitched a helluva game in his last start.

Yeah, he is pretty much a free rental. Hopefully he can keep hitting HR's. Our offense should be mighty scary down the stretch.

We also added a LH relief pitcher. I think we'll still add another.

Are you a relief pitcher with a decent track record?
Do you want your career to die (or die even more than it already has)?

And THIS is exactly who I thought we were.

2 games over .500.

Not bad, considering what we have to work with but these 4 against NY, HOU and MIL will tell everyone exactly where we stand in the pecking order.

Meh...not an embarrassment and football season (and hockey) are right around the corner...so the Rays can go back to being a 3rd class citizen here.

Ray's have been pretty busy these past 2 weeks. Lucas Dude, Dan Jennings, Sergio Romo, and Steve Cishek

Now, only a game over .500, watch us go full Rays mode and trade away Cobb or Long for peanuts lol
