The Knicks haven't been a proud franchise since the 70s really. If they were anywhere but New York they'd be completely irrelevant.

Were you in a coma for the 90s?

Yeah, Knicks were a good team in 90's that I enjoyed watching. Those clashes with Jordan/Bulls were legendary. They even went to the finals one of the years he went to play baseball iirc.

Even the late 90's with LJ hitting that 4pt play in the playoffs the Knicks were still contending.

But it's been bad for over decade despite being a #2 seed in a terrible EC a few years ago. The NBA is better when the Knicks are good, so I hope they can turn it around before I die.

That MOTHERFUCKER...And I thought the Isaiah Thomas years were bad?!?!?...

He (Jackson) should be completely erased from Knicks history, for all time...

Fuckin Bull...

I, too, think Phil is doing a piss poor job up there, but this trade will graded based on who he selects. If you end up with two great players this was a good move. If not it's par for the course.

While true, it's not unfathomable that instead of drafting 2 guys, Phil would trade those 2 picks to Cleveland for Shumpert and JR Smith...

He's an egotistical crazy ass who will stop at nothing to bottom out our franchise..

And our owner is happy to let him do it all while paying him tons of cash..

So switching thru channels I come upon the NBA Draft and Lavar Ball saying Lonzo is taking the Lakers to the playoffs this season......how close are they?

So happy that the first thing Jonathan Isaac said is that he was hoping to be drafted by the (colossal **** show) Knicks or the (kust traded away the #3 overall for what?) Nets.

They seem pretty close, they're together a lot on television.

Wolves steal Jimmy Butler from the Bulls.

Jimmy Butler, Karl-Anthony Towns & Andrew Wiggins is a decent trio. Wolves need to add some shooters, but they have about $20M in cap space to do so.

They need shooters more than Griffin.

Agreed..

They are athletic enough..need some snipers so that they can spread the floor and make teams pay for double teams (reversing the ball)...

No matter how athletic or how much a team likes to run, to win a championship you still have to effectively execute half court offense..

You must've heard that from some whack NBA fan twitter account, because they're not going to sign Griffin.

I have heard Kyle Lowry.

But I just think the Wolves need to add some shooting and a little depth. Their bench last year was the worst in the NBA.

Rubio
Wiggins
Butler
Dieng
Towns

is a really nice starting 5, but they need some help off the bench and some sharp shooters so there's no spacing issues.

Rockets get - Chris Paul
Clippers get - Patrick Beverley, Sam Dekker, Lou Williams

I actually think that's bad for them. Harden is a super ball dominant player. He's shown he's at his best with the ball. Plus, its a one year deal

My thoughts also. Now they have two guys that need to dominate the ball to be successful. It's clearly a talent upgrade at PG, but will be interesting to see how Paul and Harden coexist.

Phil Jackson and the Knicks have agreed to part ways.

Knicks are a radioactive franchise right now. I don't like to say that b/c the NBA is better when they are relevant imo. But it is, what it is.

I'm floored by the incompetence of Indiana's FO. How the hell do you love PG for nothing when we all knew in February he was leaving?

As of right now, they are still a distant 2nd in the East and likely wouldn't be a top 4 team in the West.

There are rumors they are offering one of their first next year for Marc Gasol. That would help them close the gap a bit as they are terrible on the boards.

While his playoff performances have been rather disappointing, there's almost no question that he's been the best regular season player over the past three seasons. Finished 2nd in MVP voting twice in the past three seasons. He's taken Houston to the playoffs in each of his 4 seasons there, including a 2nd seed. One of the most marketable players in the NBA.

I think the timing of this move is about the current trend of super teams and Houston locking down their guy for as long as possible. He's not going anywhere anytime soon. Could he play better in elimination games? Sure. But when you're talking about the top handful of players in the NBA, it's hard to get too picky. You'll see guys signing for the max that aren't worth it but James Harden isn't one of them.

I wouldn't be so sure. I think with Hayward and Tatum, the Celtics can contend with the Cavs now. Obviously Cleveland would still be the favorite, but it wouldn't stun me if Boston knocked off Cleveland this coming season.
