Chicago just won a championship on the backs of the Tampa Bay Lightning and now I gotta watch one of our best guys and our manager deliver that city even more glory. It's not over yet but I imagine it's gotta be close.
Trust me I get not winning it for 108 years but for the city that had the monsters of the midway, Jordan and now a modern day hockey dynasty it's not like they had nothing along the way.
Monty is gonna come in to lock up for you
Heh good point. Believe me I'm happy for any Cubs diehard over the age of 80 because they suffered the worst of it. But the rest of Chicago fans are unbearable. Talk to a Blackhawk fan and you'll quickly discover that no one under the age of 40 knows a damn thing. Ask a Hawk fan what number was Chelios, Savard or Roenick and they look at you like you're stupid. This is the equivalent of a Buc fan not knowing Sapp was 99 and Brooks 55.
In 2008 when they came to town I asked a young man in his late 20s clad in Cubs gear that was "Cubs til he died" what he thought Ron Santos best playoff game was and he said that there were too many to pick and he was amazing in the clutch.
Ron Santo never played a playoff game for the Cubs. It was a trick question. I know I sound bitter but this is why I hate the idea of Maddon and co carrying them to glory.
