if the Lightning want to make another deep run to Stanley Cup next year, Bolts need to start Valsky over Bishop in the regular season

Bishop always injured no matter what

win is win

I really don't see the sharks keeping up with the pens.

Actually I think Sharks will win the series.

Not saying you're wrong, just curious on your insight as to why?

Sharks have a size advantage. Pitts have youth. Both have speed. In hockey it is all about the goaltending you get. So the Sharks have an advantage

If Bishop wasn't hurt then the Lightning have a chance.

After Bishop went down, No one gave the Lightning a chance to win the series.

Other than one game, where did Vasilevskiy play so bad? Hell, Bishop had a miserable game himself in these playoffs. My point being that they didn't lose this series because of goal tending. Not even close.

This.

Goaltending is what got us to game 7. If not for Vasy, we would have been out it 5.

Capitals and Rangers had more of a size advantage than San Jose does. Pittsburgh negates other teams size with their speed. Check the stats in the other series. Teams completely out hit the Penguins and it did little to slow them down.

Sharks may have a slight advantage on goal tending, but if they don't slow down the Pens offense, it's not going to matter. If the Sharks allow the Pens to shoot 30+ times a game, they're in trouble.

I think the Penguins get to show off their speed once again. If they can stay out of the box and away from that Shark Power Play, they have a very good chance. Brent Burns ends up being the X factor for me. He's so good defensively but adds in that extra wrinkle when it comes to being a scoring threat. I think the Pens stack up well.

Going to be a fun ride!

You had NO idea as to what you were watching.

Vasy was NOT the reason the Bolts lost that series...and Bish would've been in the same boat. I hope Cooper has learned a valuable lesson.

The Pens philosophy is to put SoG and crash the net. The Bolts like to "play pretty" and pass the puck into the net. Stamkos MAY have made a difference...but there were MANY reasons why we lost the series...frankly, we did well to get it to 7. And Vasy being a STUD is one of those reasons. I kind of found it amusing how the announcers played up the fact that Murray was so young, when in actuality, Vasy is YOUNGER. Vasy faced nearly TWICE the shots that Murray did. The Triplets disappeared. We had NOBODY to pick up the slack. Hedman was a disappointment. He was thoroughly out-played and over-matched. Our 3rd and 4th lines were dominated.

The Pens carried and dominated the ToP AND SoG throughout the series and deserved the win. IF they do the same in the finals, they'll take the Cup...and it won't go 7.

Good luck to the Penguins. I hope we see y'all again next year.
