This was the first time ever! The closest we got was the Spanish clubs winning both European titles the last 3 years.

Dude.... Chelsea just lost Loftus-Cheek to a ruptured Achilles for the sake of a throwaway game weeks before Europa.

Chris Wondolowski is now the all time leading scorer in the MLS. I know most people don’t like him, but I always have. Love his fight and determination. Definitely not all that skilled just a hard working over achiever

It certainly was. It’s remarkabke he had the mental toughness to bounce back after it and have a good MLS career. Better athletes than him folded at lesser

Hazard makes it 3-0. Goodnight sweet prince. Somewhere Sanka is probably making an ass of himself.

Edit: And now 4-1. I said damn son.... Wow nevermind. The Arsenal defense is making an ass of itself.

I was shocked by the scoreline, I thought Arsenal was going to win. This has been a weird season for Chelsea.

So proud of the Reds. This definitely makes up for not winning the EPL. By God it feels like this didn't actually happen.

Agreed. I wish Jozy was left off and Sargent was on

Just shows how thin we are up front.

I hope Bradley doesn’t see the field unless it’s to save legs of other guys for later tournament games

Boyd seems like a real find. And Pulisic and McKinnie showed some nice flashes, while Zimmerman played some absolutely gorgeous long passes from his centerback position. We are desperately looking for a striker though. If Dempsey was only 8 years younger this could be an exciting team.

Watched the whole game. Not sold on Zardes, but at least he meant to score the goals he had tonight. And not completely sold on our back line. I think Long and Zimmerman are really good offensively, but have not been as strong in defense as I would like. Ream playing in place of Tyler Adams shows how badly we needed the kid.

All that said, McKinnie, Boyd and Pulisic are a really fun trio of midfielders. There is some real quality about this team in terms of technical skill that we have not seen in years past. Even our centerbacks have touch and we have a god mix of pace on the wings as well. Think these guys could win the Gold Cup as a mostly young and unproven team on class.

Agreed with everything there Ken

I am incredibly uneasy with our defense.

I love the way we are more direct and creative in attack, though I still question our overall technical ability to do it against good teams

So far so good for the tournament, let’s hope some of these young guys develop

Honestly, I think this team will score a lot of goals. They look like young kids who need to play together for the first half of every game and then they look like they figure it out in the 2nd half. That’s what they are, and having two minnows to start the tournament has been perfect. We’ve just got to see a much improved back line or we will concede goals too easily to better clubs.

Two things I need to see... how do they play when the other team has possession and how do they play down a goal. They need to face and overcome some adversity before I’m willing to say they are for real. But I don’t think we’ve had this much skill in the midfield (and really all over the pitch) since 2002. I mean we have a pair of guys who were first choice for Bundesliga squads of quality.

The future looks very bright for this group. If Adams can come back for WC qualifiers and Boyd/Pulisic/McKinnie can realize their potential, we are a Brian McBride type ST away from a golden era of US attackers. I’m fairly confident we can find the right mix of centerbacks eventually as this has consistently been the position Americans have excelled at producing. Like I moaned before, it’s truly a shame Dempsey wasn’t 6-8 years younger. He would be the perfect anchor at the top for these kids.
