Dumb Computer Question

Okay, my Windows 7 is totally FUBAR. It won't load at all and all recovery efforts have failed. Because I'm a compu-idiot, I didn't have any system backups in place (I did offload all my files before it died, thankfully.)

Anyway, Microsoft says that if I go to their website and enter my serial, I can download a factory restore .iso file, save it to a flash drive, and load it, and it's as easy as that. Is that true? Thanks.

It really is as easy as that.

Try Rufio; if you’re uncomfortable flashing an ISO file. It’s free, portable, and does the heavy lifting for you.

Feel free to PM me if you need further assistance.

Microsoft really does make it that easy.. they even have a program to create the bootable USB disk.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... nload-tool

Your old files even should be available where they were in a folder called "windows.old" on your C: drive. Provided your hard drive hasn't completely failed that is.
